Whats your opinions on diamonds vs white sapphires? I have a diamond engagement ring set that I really want to use for my engagement ring (at the moment they only fit my pinky, size mistake) but I also have an antique white sapphire (tiny diamonds on the band) I got from my mother who gave to me to use as my engagement ring set(the marquis shaped one) I would like to know your opinions on it? Whats your favorite?

I have both also. I will tell you, at least for me, the diamond had more "fire" than the sapphire. It sparkeled more.
Both are lovely, both are precious stones. Good luck in your decision.

Usually, I would prefer sapphire because its rarer than diamond but since it is a white sapphire you couldnt tell right away what kind of stone is it and diamonds have more fire and brilliance and so in this case I would choose the diamond. You can use the sapphire ring as RHR though..its pretty as well. It looks good on photos.

Get the pinky band sized to your ring finger and wear whichever you're in the mood for that day. Wear the other as a RHR if you'd like. Your daily choices will reveal your preference over time, and you'll have two beautiful rings that fit your ring fingers.

I like them both but wouldn't expect white sapphire to look remarkably diamond-like. The fact that it's antique could add to that illusion, though, as older diamonds aren't cut as brilliant, and can lose brilliance over time due to grime and whatnot.

Personally I like the marquise cut of the sapphire, and although doesn't have that same brilliance, is more unique than many of the e-rings I'm seeing recently. But you should go with your gut!
