diamond studs

hi, i would like your opinions on something. heres the choices .1. 1/2 carat fg color i1 clarity or 1ct h i3.?which would you choose.thanks

Are they eye-clean at those clarity grades? What is the cut quality?

Neither. I would not be looking into an I clarity. I1 is not eyeclean and I3 will look like frozen spit.

I'd be much more concerned about the clarity than the color, IMHO. Look for something around SI1 or SI2. Also, a reputable company will not give a range for color, but an actual color. For earrings, I think you can safely go down to and H. Look for a well cut pair with these specs and see what size you can get.

I clarity is not something that should be in jewelry. Ugh...JMO, but I always think I=industrial.

I'd go up to at least SI and sacrifice color grade if size is not negotiable.

Agreed. I wouldn't go lower than SI2. I wouldn't have any problem going down to an I in color.
I mean what price range are you looking in? Surely we can help you find something.

^ I agree. I had a pair of really gross diamond studs that were awful clarity and such a waste.
