I've really been wanting diamond studs for a long time. I've read a bunch of the threads here noting the different companies, cut, color, table%, and depth% I should be looking for. I want to spend $3,000 tops on the diamonds, setting will be separate. I'm interesting in buying from bluenile because they have a great reputation and because of their upgrade policy. I found two that are very similar and am wondering if I should go with one of these or a better option for the price is available. Thanks for the advice!

Set 1: .9 ctw
Carat Weight: .45/.45
Cut:Signature Ideal/ Signature Ideal
Color: G/G
Calrity: VS1/VS1
Table %: 55/55
Depth: 61.4/61.3
Girdle: Thin to Medium/Thin to Medium
$2,977

Set 2: .93 ctw
Carat Weight: .46/.47
Cut:Ideal/Ideal
Color: G/G
Calrity: VS2/VS2
Table %: 55/55
Depth: 61.4/61.3
Girdle: Thin to Medium, Faceted/Thin to Medium, Faceted
$2,866

Hopefully someone can chime in!:D:graucho:

I know they look VERY similar lol. In my defense I honestly just put in your suggestions, as far as a 55-56%table and 59.0-61.5% depth so there were not many options as far as .90 ctw and up, for $3,000. Actually, only 4 options were returned on the search and these two were the only two with 55% table, which I read, from you, was preferred. Not sure how strict I should be with these "suggestions" or should I try and broaden my search a bit? I'm also not sure how much of a a visual difference the signature ideal will make as opposed to the ideal.

Here are the links though,

Ok I REALLY like that first pair. Like a lot a lot. Of the two, as much as I prefer the faceted girdles in the 2nd that would be my first pick.

Their rankings on that site for "ideal" and "signature ideal" are not related to cut quality or the report, it's their own ranking. And they rarely have them in stock to tell you anything, so you're buying on paper.

The angles on the crown and pav are PERFECT together. The 55 table, specifically, is the ideal table percentage, especially when the pav angle and depth percentage work with it, to get the most ideal light return and fire possible. That's ideally what cutters go for when they're cutting for perfection and not cutting for carat weight.

Sorry for responding so late! I did take your advice and get these diamonds! I had some issues finding somewhere to ship them to avoid the crazy NY tax on them, but they should arrive shortly. Thanks for the help! I'm so excited for them to come in :woohoo::yahoo:
