Diamond Solitaire - Ring or Pendant?

My grandmother left me a diamond ring. The stone is GORGEOUS (1 carat) - but the setting is really not my style. Should I put the diamond in a new setting or make it into a solitaire pendant? Thoughts? Suggestions for a new setting? It would be a right hand ring if I go with a new setting.

I'm not sure. I like the idea of a new setting but I don't want it to look like an engagement ring.

My grandma has a lovely bezel set diamond pendant, I am going to vote pendant because I love love love that look!

I would keep the setting, even if you put the diamond into something else.

I would do which ever you would wear more often.

pendant, definitely a pendant.

not sure if you're married or not, so if you're married, i would do a pendant. if you're not, then maybe hold onto it until you get engaged and maybe you and your fiancé can put it into an e-ring.

I have had a i carat diamond solitaire for a long time that i wear on a simple chain. i never take it off. Sometimes it can be seen depending on what I wear, other times it is just there. It was a gift from my father so - sentimental.
