Hi everyone!! I just made a decision on a round diamond and would like reassurance that I made the right decision.

2.26 I VS2 triple Ex stone

8.48 - 8.52 - 5.14 mm

Table: 57
Depth 60.4
Crown angle 33.5
Pavilion 40.8

Scores .08 on HCA.

Opinions please? The diamond is beautiful and performsamazing. B8484307-3962-4023-A49B-4277590F0C7C.jpeg 4AB88389-6CA9-4A91-92CF-ACE23077218B.png

If you're happy with it, then that's the number one. The CA and PA don't technically line up well together and a smaller table would be better for that depth, HOWEVER, (you'd want a 34.5) if it's pleasing your eyes, and you're pleased with the price, that is what matters.

Thank you Ame! My jeweler is setting the ring and I will make the final decision once it’s mounted and I can view the performance in various lighting

I look forward to your report back.

Just know that heads (mounting heads) cannot be reused safely more than once, and really shouldn’t be at all. The seats are cut for the single stone and reseating a new one in one already cut for something else makes it easy for a stone to “wiggle” loose.

Hi Sammy! So I love the oval engagement ring that you have/had, it was actually the ring that I sent my boyfriend as inspiration for my ER when I ran into your pics at Pricescope. I was just curious if you thought it had enough finger coverage? The diamond we decided on has specs very similar to yours but I’m a size 9 (hoping to lose some of my fluff) and concerned it won’t look ‘substantial enough’. When I’ve tried on rings with compatible sizes, they’ve seemed perfect! Maybe it’s just because the diamond isn’t set. Anyway, just wanted your input. Congrats on yet another gorgeous ring! What are your ideas for the setting?

I'm, by far, no diamond expert, however their are some TPF Sisters that have extensive knowledge and impeccable taste ( Miss skyqueen is one of them, )when it comes to diamonds I'm sure they agree that you made a great selection, for this stone is beautiful!!!![emoji173][emoji173][emoji173]

Hi! Thank you for your sweet words. I loved my oval e-ring. The size was perfect and the length to width ratio looked substantial on my finger. My sole reason for "upgrading" was the bowtie on my oval diamond... It really bothered me. It was something that bothered me from the moment we were engaged. I thought I would eventually get over it, but I did not. If you’re worried about size, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. My original e-ring was a size 8 and the stone definitely had "presence" on my finger. I can’t wait to see your E-ring! My new setting is extremely similar to the setting used for my oval e-ring. The only difference are the prongs, I opted for single claw prongs instead of double.
