I really like Bally handbags and have no problem with buying pre-loved. I bought a red Bally Suzy with silver hardware a few months ago and absolutely love it. It has a detachable chain strap.

I became obsessed with the idea of getting a caramel version with gold hardware. I found one on sale for less than $600 at Tradesy. Condition is great, but the strap is not detachable!

I can return it for Tradesy site credit. The same bag, brand new and with a detachable strap, is on sale for $837 on the Bally website.

Should I return the bag and spend the extra on a new one just for the strap option? It’s unlikely I will use another strap with the bag. On the other hand, the clasps make the strap slightly longer - good because I am tall - and I like the detail.

Unless the chain length makes you feel uncomfortable I say do not bother, since you only get store credit back.
I could be wrong but I think the new caramel ones I see are size medium whereas the one you got from tradesy seems to be smaller?If you decide to get a new one you can wait for additional discount for sale items, usually 20%. Right now farfetch has additional 10% off.

I’d swop it. The second bag has the strap you want, and makes it more wearable for you. And the fact that’s it’s brand new on its own makes it worth the price diff IMO. Can you keep the tradesy credit for a reasonable length of time, long enough to use on something else you need? (Sorry not familiar with them)

You made the right decision. Now you will have the exact bag you want. I would have done the same thing. I have to put a plug in for Bally here. They are so underrated in bags. I have one from 2012 that still looks brand new. I don’t wear it often, but the quality is great. I’m glad to see another fan.

Bally leathers are TDF! Every time I see Bally I just have to have a sniff and a feel because it's some of the most glorious leather I've ever come across in my life.

I think you did make the right decision - I'm 6 ft tall, I need all the strap drop I can get and know the feeling when a lovely bag is ALMOST perfect but everything is ruined because the drop is too small!

I'm behind the curve, but I think you did the right thing

I must say these bags are GORGEOUS!!!
