The most common pieces that is often made of gold is a ring. Gold Rings, especially wedding rings, are most often made of gold though many people nowadays are choosing titanium or platinum metals for jewelry. However, for many, gold is still the most desirable metal.

I prefer platinum ... i love the weight and the colour ... but my mum prefers 22 carat gold (indian back ground) ... i guess im just not used to that yellow gold colour ... so i guess everyone is different.

I prefer platinum, but because I inherited many yellow gold pieces i'm taking them to my jeweler's to get them platinum plated. I do like gold but only in funky shapes with fun summer dresses.

it really depends, gold is more flexble (especially with rings) it's easy to have 'em resized.for plats it's forever :-) i used to like white gold, but now i don't discriminate. i love 'em all! hahaha although I'm iffy with concentrations though. I refuse to wear anything less than 18k.

I love gold jewelry - be it white or yellow gold! But what i want to own right now is H. Stern's noble gold. The color changes depending on the angle so it is very versatile & just love the look of it.

I didn't used to like yellow gold, but my fiance bought this beautiful yellow gold necklace for me from an artist in New York, Tenden Za. It is so delicate and pretty it has changed my mind about yellow gold. I do think though that it is really easy to go too far with yellow gold. Big, chunky and fun is good, but sometimes it can just be big and tacky, kwim?

I usually wear gold jewelry. I inherited several simple pieces, and I also have a lot of Helen Ficalora and Zoe Chicco pieces that didn't look right to me in any other metal than yellow gold, so I stick with it.

I think both are popular and really depend on the outfit or your other accessories. Sometimes though, a gold jewelry item in a classic/mature style can make me look too "stuffy" for my age but I prefer it to white. :smile1:
