So, is it just me who experienced quality problems with high end designers, with items made in Eastern Europe, China, Greece etc?

I have some items from luxury brands which are made in Greece for example, and the stitching is kinda faulty in places.

I’ve been hearing that the quality of a number of luxury brands is declining, especially over the last few years. Seems a real shame when you are paying a premium purely for the brand name really, yet you‘re no longer getting your money’s worth.

I understand what you mean, but the title is incorrect and someone may find it offensive.
China and Greece are not poor countries. How poor can be the country with the largest foreign-exchange reserves, the second economy in the world according nominal GDP and the first economy according PPP Adjusted GDP. In many aspects China is already in the future (I'm not Asian).
The recent years I've seen high end bags made in France (which I suppose is in your rich countries list) with some quality problems.

You are right. What I meant to say is countries where designer brands usually outsource. They tend to be poorer countries where luxury goods are usually produced like France or Italy. This is why its outsourcing.

I think the main reason for outsourcing the manufacturing of bags and clothes is to increase profit margins. I don't think the quality is worse because the products are not made in Italy or France. These companies, like LV have factories in countries where labor costs are low in order to increase the profit margin, but these workers are trained to a high standard. I think one of the reasons a lot of french fashion houses don't manufacture in France is due to the strong labour laws. It is cheaper and also less red tape in other European countries so they produce there.
