Do employees get special bags issued to them? I had a bag authenticated and I was told that the white markings on the lining actually means the bags were made for the brands' employees.

Has anyone heard of this? Are there really handbags made for employees of the brand?

An LV SA told me once that the crossbody she and the other SAs were wearing were not for sale to the public and issued only to the SAs. I was also in a Tory Burch boutique looking for flats and I wanted the ones the SA was wearing. She told me that her shoes were issued only to the SAs and not for public sale. I suspect this is common. I sure wish that crossbody and those flats had been for sale to the public.

yes, they do make them and sell certain ones just to employees. i know for certain LV and Chanel get them, and I assume the other brands do it as well. they are always marked with *something* inside though- LV usually does a circular mark above the 'made in' and usually the Chanel bags that employees can wear are made in England, and not Italy/France/Spain... it's supposed to make resale harder for these bags, which I believe they can keep or purchase at a discount. i have purchased former employee bags before (there will always be an interior marking of some kind from every brand), so they're fairly easy to spot on resale sites. the hard part is if your bag needs repair, because the store will know it somehow came to you via an alternate channel.

This thread is just what I was looking for! Thanks Antigone :wave: I remembered I'd read about this somewhere on tPF.

I recently bought a Double Tour Balenciaga bracelet in colour Ultra Violet (season 2013) and it has passed the authentication here on tPF but there is one inexplicable stamped mark on the inside of the bracelet- a star. The seller claims it was there when she bought it from Balenciaga during a sale- and that I need to ask Bal about it. The seller has sold another yellow Double Tour (same season) with the same stamp on it and has two more listed- one Ultra Violet and one yellow, both with the star stamp.

I have e-mailed Balenciaga about it but doubt they will answer this one since it's the company's private business with their employees.

Could this Double Tour bracelet from Balenciaga be such a gift as you're discussing?

I know both Hermes and Gucci have uniforms that include little X-over bags and shoes too.
