Hello,

I recently poped into my local H store (Montreal, Canada) and was looking to purchase a collier de chien belt kit with the gold hardware. The slaes associate could not locate one, but offered to do a world wide search that can take up to 8 weeks to complete, but required a deposit to do so. The sales associate assured me that the depopsit was refundable should they not be able to locate the gold collier de chien buckle I am looking for.

But my question is: are deposits a common practice at H? Is this something that is required or asked for all purchases where world wide orders are being done?

I don't know if this makes a difference, but I do have a small purchase history with this store.

The only time I was asked for deposits is when ordering tableware directly from France that was not in stock at my local store. Other than that, I have never been charged any deposits for any of my scarf and shoes worldwide searches

In Hermes Canada, deposit (of full amount) seems to be a common practice. Your SA is right. If the item cannot be located, the deposit is fully refundable. Please keep in mind that the global search may takr up to 12 weeks or more. My last global search took close to 3 months.

Hi. i recently had an item (scarf) for world wide search in Tontonto and paid a deposit as well. They only charged me 50% of the price. I am still in the process so I dont know if I am successful. Apparently that's how it is in Canada and I learned from others as well that it typically takes 8 weeks but can go beyond as well. Deposit is fully refundable if they are unable to locate the item.

Does a world wide search include an item on Hermes.com from another country? I keep seeing items in countries which only allow home delivery or store delivery within that country. I'm just wondering if an SA's world wide search access includes items on the internet in other countries. I haven't asked my SA because I'm not sure I'm ready to pull the trigger. (Also I'm assuming you would pay the price you would pay in your home store, and not in the other country.)

Got a call from my local store that the scarf has arrived. I have yet to pick it up on Monday.
It took a little over a month for the search. The price they charged me is my home store price.

Hi, does anyone know that if Hermes has taken my deposit over a year ago and still unable to deliver the item at this point, is it possible to ask for a refund of the deposit to original payment? I don’t want any store credits..
