My family drove to Boca Raton today to do some shopping and have my son's photo taken with Santa, so I stopped by the Tiffany & Co. location at the Town Center at Boca (Mall) to have a peek at some of the Tiffany items I've been drooling over online!

I quickly ruled out the RG Butterfly Pendant/Earrings and the RG Elsa Peretti Open Heart Pendant/Earrings due to their size... a little too big for my liking for every day. I also ruled out the RG Tiffany & Co. mini lock and (much to my dismay) the RG Oval Tiffany key... only because my son attempted to grab them even while I was trying them on!! They obviously caught his attention...

But now I'm torn! I can choose any of the following to stay within my $1400 budget:

1) 0.14ct RG DBTY Earrings @ $965

2) RTT Mini Double Tag Pendant with Diamonds @ $1250

3) 0.07ct RG DBTY Necklace and 0.06ct RG DBTY Earrings $600/$685 = $1285

4) Elsa Peretti RG Bean Necklace and matching Earrings $595/$750 = $1345

5) RTT Mini RG Tag earrings and Mini RG Tag/silver bead bracelet $475/$325 = $800

Opinions? What would everyone here do?

Personally, I'm leaning toward the Elsa Peretti Bean set in RG. They're delicate and understated, but still have a good weight to them. But I feel like a traitor because the DBTY line was my reason for going in the first place!

I went to Tiffany & Co. with my heart set on the 0.14ct DBTY earrings, but I was a little underwhelmed by them in-person (the yellow gold version, at least, because they didn't have the rose gold version in-store) and anything bigger would either make little/no difference or would be too big for me every day.

What would everyone here choose? Suggestions? Obviously, I'm looking for rose gold!

Bean set! It popped into my head before I saw it as an option. Or can you do bean necklace and dbty earrings? Or bean earrings and dbty pendant? So you still get your sparkle...

Bean set or DBTY set, have you thought about a .14 ct diamond in RG DBTY necklace? Not to complicate things just suggestions.

The bean is like the best little worry stone (I like to fidget with my necklaces) and it lays beautifully on. I think the bean earrings will be too big for our liking, especially if you like really dainty earrings. Which one did you like best?

Another option could be the bean necklace and DBTY earrings. That would be a lovely set.

I also was going to suggest Bean necklace and DBTY earrings. I'm not into matched sets though. The bean has a nice weight and size. It's such a simple shape but it really shows off the precious metal.

Plus the chain is more substantial than the DBTY chain IMO. Perfect for toddlers for like pull. Haha :)

The bean set, or if u wld still like something with diamonds, then 1 item of the bean and 1 item from the dbty line. Eg bean necklace & dbty earrings or bean earrings & dbty necklace.

I'm not into matching sets either. I'd pick a RG bean necklace with diamond earrings, does it all have to be Tiffanys? I'm all for Tiffany but what about Tiffany RG bean necklace with a non-Tiffany bigger diamond studs to keep within budget?

the bean necklace and dbty earring. that way you have both. one on your neck and some sparkle on your ears.
all this talk about bean makes me want one for christmas. :)

I LOVE how you put this about the bean being the perfect little worry stone! The only reason I wear a necklace is so that I can reach up and fidget with it while thinking, reading, watching Tv, etc.! When I don't wear a necklace, I find myself reaching for it and then feeling very naked because I don't have that distraction to play with.


Looks like my options are the full bean set... or DBTY earrings and the bean necklace...

I think I want the bean necklace, either way! :graucho:

I guess the question is: Do I want a matching set? And if not, do I want the larger earrings or the smaller?

I know I first suggested the bean set earlier. But when I think about it some more, i guess i personally won't wear them together. Might be a bit too matchy-matchy. If I have the bean necklace I would rather pair it with diamond studs.

That's just me though...you should get what you love. Either way all your choices are very pretty pieces.

I'm definitely getting the Bean necklace because I fell in love with it yesterday and keep thinking about it. :D

I'm still deciding about the earrings. I've decided that the 0.06ct DBTY aren't really worth it, so it's either the 0.14ct DBTY or the bean earrings now...

Narrowing it down quickly!! Just need to make a final decision...

LoL Sorry! I know my obsessing probably has several people on the Tiffany & Co. website giving the bean a second look...

It's either the RG bean earrings with the RG bean necklace

-or-

the RG 0.14ct DBTY earrings with the RG bean necklace

The difference is about $200... So I can either get the RG bean set now, or keep saving to expand my budget enough for the DBTY and RG bean

I've never been a patient person... LoL
