Hi everyone,

I've narrowed down my final gold and beige bag choice down to final two. I want the bag to be elegant enough for day and night. I am just concerned about the vintage lambskin on the first. Any ideas on wear and tear?

2. YSL Wallet on Chain

What do you think?

Please help me TFPRs! About to take the plunge on one of them

Thanks

I'm biased towards vintage, so I say the vintage Chanel. I think lambskin has a reputation for being more fragile than it really is. The YSL is beautiful, but if it is between Chanel and YSL, I say Chanel for sure.

One will hold more stuff (Chanel). The YSL is a woc, without much space, the Chanel mini fits more. Vintage Chanel is great stuff, as long as you look at the detailed pics and make sure no matter what you buy there is a return policy.

Do you own any Chanel Vintage? Conscious that it can look old quite quickly or wear and I'll have to baby it.

Return policy incase there are issues with the vintage leather? YSL is also amazing and I don't carry a lot so it's not a problem for me.

I own a couple of vintage camera bags in lambskin and a vintage jumbo sized flap. It all depends on how they've been taken care of. I don't baby them, but I am conscious of how I'm using them. I don't take them out in inclement weather, I don't put them on the floor or on dirty or wet surfaces. I do condition the leather maybe once a year or so? I store them in their dust bags when I don't use them and for the most part, they are wearing well. I rotate a lot, so the bags are not being used on a daily basis and I don't even think I've added any wear and tear to them myself honestly. I've used Leather Pros (bag restoration company) on the flap bag and they really helped restore the leather, so there is always that if you feel the bag needs it, but if it doesn't, leather conditioner is great (I've used the Apple brand the Cadillac brand).
