Let's see who's around to share their opinions and give their advice to me. :graucho:

I have been debating this large purchase for about 3 hours now. I'm extremely indecisive!!!!!

It will be 5 Tiffany pieces and two Pandora bracelets for $900.

I feel sick spending that much money, but my goal was to give them to my mother who loves all this stuff. I've already spent quite a bit on shoe purchases. I'm only thinking if I can just sell a few of my own items, I'll be okay with everything I've purchased.

The Tiffany items are as follows:
1) open heart clasp necklace
2) triple bangle with tiffany 1837 lock
3) tiffany 1837 hoop earrings
4) tiffany oval tag bracelet
5) tiffany oval tag necklace

Pandora:
1) 14 charms and 2 spacers with lobster clasp bracelet
2) 6 charms with double leather bracelet.

Please help me decide whether to splurge or save. I have about half an hour to one hour to decide.

Thanks fellow tpf'ers!!!!

I would pass... if you have to buy them all as a bulk purchase, some of the Tiffany items there are duplicates - why get 3 very similar bracelets? While it is a good deal if you add them up, I think it is much better to find 1-2 items you really love (or you think your mom would really love) and just get those, even if it ends up costing more than 2/10th of the price of these items, know what I mean?

You could get something amazing for $900! This just seems like a random collection of stuff. So...pass unless you really love each item individually.

Does it have to be all or nothing?

I dont think I would personally buy completed pandora bracelets just because to me the main draw is getting to choose charms that are special to you and create a bracelet that is custom to you.

The tiffany pieces are beautiful though :)

I agree that it is a large "lot" to buy. Would you have chosen each of those individual pieces separately? If not, then I wouldn't spring for them all at once. And I also agree about Pandora being about creating the piece yourself with beads significant to the wearer; that is not usually possible buying a pre-owned piece.

Thank you to everyone for answering! I always wonder where I would be without the generous ppl on tpf giving up their time to help those in need!

Yah, I was debating over the Tiffany stuff like you couldn't believe. My mother LOVES full sets when she could get them herself and everything there is quite pretty, but again, I don't know if she wants everything there.

As for the Pandora, my mother has admired my full bracelets, and I wanted to find her something that she could just wear every day and enjoy without worrying if she wears it to line dancing or something that it'll get ruined :)

And yah, I'd have to purchase everything in the lot. It was a prix fixe menu and not a la carte :p

I just wanted to do something nice for my mom since she's had a really rough go of things lately.

I think you made the right decision. If the amount of money makes you feel sick, as you said in your first post, it should be an automatic pass. Your gut is literally trying to tell you something!

I'm sure you'll find something nice to do for your mom without having to drop that much $$.

I must say, I wasn't expecting such great advice that countered my natural inclination to get these pieces.

I was totally expecting ppl to tell me to just go for it. I'm pleasantly surprised that everyone on here is acting like my conscience. Part of me is always asking myself....is this a deal you'll never see again. The opportunity to get a matching set for a great price? That's what was going through my head for ever.

I don't have to take the Pandora WITH the tiffany stuff. However, the Tiffany stuff would cost me $700.

I'm so glad I didn't pull the trigger on the purchase and live like a pauper for a little while until I could sell my own items.

There are actually reselling pages on facebook for both tiffany & pandora and you can make a pretty penny on there! Find out the msrpprices of each item and then figure out how much (for the ones you don't want) then put a discounted (usually about 15% or more) price on it depending on the pre owned condition it's in. You could keep a few bracelets for your mom and sell the rest or sell it all double your money and buy something new. It's so easy to sell on the pages and the women are sooo nice you can buy some for cheap too. All you need is paypal it's easy. I actually put together a pandora bracelet didnt like how it turned out sold the ones I didn't like and made a quick and easy $200 on maybe 8 charms?

As always, any time I interact with the people on this website, my faith in humanity is restored. Everyone is very genuine, honest and considerate when it comes to giving advice and I constantly feel lucky to have the privilege of getting responses from you folks here!

If I could, I'd just hug everyone!:hugs:
In fact, I just found another seller willing to sell her Tiffany platinum flower sapphire necklace for less than what I was going to pay.

Thanks again everyone. It's really interesting to hear the opinions of others here. No one else I know really 'gets' the luxury brand shopping idea, so I can't really consult with people I know. They'd think it silly to spend $ on any luxury personal goods.

The Tiffany platinum flower sapphire necklace sounds nice. I love Tiffany's platinum pieces, they are very well made and you get free cleaning for life. I think their gold and platinum pieces are worth it.

if you're going to live like a pauper from those purchases please pass. life is more important than frivolous material things. sure they're nice, but we all have to be pragmatic.

like the others have said, buying one piece at a time is more sensible. tiffany & co has individual pieces and you get the very pretty packaging and it's new.

whatever you give your mom she'll be very happy. even if it's a nice dinner or a great day out.
