Deciding between LV Keepall 45 and Gucci Ophidia Weekender

Hi all! Trying to decide between these two bags. Anyone who owns or has used either care to comment on pros/cons? or if anyone has compared the two would love your thoughts. Wish they had a sleeve for laptops, but otherwise I love them both and can't decide. Thank you!

Over the years I have owned a few Gucci bags (currently only have one in my collection, which is a fantastic large tote that I’ll never get rid of) and I find that they are of fabulous quality. I actually really like this Gucci holdall, but my vote would be for the Keepall. I just love mine.

I actually like the look of the Gucci one more, but I would still suggest the LV one over it. One of the reasons is that the LV is more durable, especially if you use the bag more heavily. The fabric strap and the green and red web of the Gucci one can get frayed with lots of use. As well, the LV Keepall has been around for a lot longer, and will look current even 10 years later.

The Keepall is my absolute favourite bag from Vuitton, and the last time I liked anything Gucci was in the late 00's. So...
The Ophidia is a generic holdall, the shoulder strap connection feels like an afterthought, the red-green band and the GG logo serve no structural purpose, they are just embellishments, adding more points of failure to the design. The strap is fabric, its ends look like dog leashes... I can go on and on...
The Keepall is a 90-year-old classic, all its elements serve a purpose, it combines gothic and roman architecture principles to make a truly functional yet timeless design, it is simply the crown jewel of the Vuitton soft-sided luggage heritage.
No offence to people who like the Gucci, it is not a bad bag, but it simply cannot compare to the Keepall.

Love Gucci and LV. That being said, much prefer the LV Keepall.

Gucci is prettier in between these two, I have keepalls and ophidia tote, if you are a heavy user, then makes no difference they both deteriorate fast, if you are a careful user, and not intend to resell then Gucci's would be my choice simply it's prettier more eye catching, unisex, when comes to resell value, between these two, 50/50 depends on when where you are selling how long you want to sit on and luck.

depends on the batch, some keepall's canvas are thinner than other ones. Gucci's may need an organizer to hold shape better

Also vote for the keepall, I love it for all the reasons already listed in previous replies. It is a classic and isn’t going anywhere. But maybe that is the point. Looking at both side by side, the gucci is more eye catching and fashion driven because of the colorful pattern versus a more understated monogram eclipse of the LV. Really depends on what your goals were. Durability may be a moot point if a certain look is what you were going for. Besides, I think overall quality of both houses have declined over the years so pick one that you know you will enjoy now.

I have a vintage keepall 45 and really used it on occasion, but I was amazed how much it holds. Not that it should matter but LV will have better resell value, too.

I have a 1970s Gucci tote, and it is a real workhorse, still going strong... I feel like Gucci luggage / bags are sturdier overall, BUT I much prefer the look of the Keepall - the design of Ophidia feels kind of generic (and not quite as timeless - I feel like it's only a timeless design because it's Gucci, not because of the design itself - if that makes sense). The Keepall, I feel, is a timeless classic because of its design / look, rather than simply because of its brand.
