Does it drive you crazy that you have to keep the straps straight all the time so they don't crack??

I don't keep mine straight and never had cracking. I let them fall over the side of the bag

Im glad to hear that.. I see so many pictures of DE NF's with the handles straight up. And also read many gals store them this way too.

I used to do this but the leather has gotten softer and it's harder now.

Ops, didn't see the title said NF, sorry! I have no issues with any of my DE bags but I don't have a NF yet...I do want to get one though....

Well I have had my bag for about 3=4 years...I have never stored it with the handles up...no cracking... (just small signs of wear and tear)...definitely NO PEELING!!!...

Mine was cracking after having it for only three months. I had it repaired and ever since then I hardly wear it and always leave it up.

I store mine with the straps hanging over the sides, seems fine.
