Good news if you've purchased diamond jewelry in the past 14 years: you could get cash back. De Beers, the world's largest diamond supplier, just settled a class action lawsuit charging that it monopolized the diamond trade and kept prices high.
The amount customers could get depends on the number of people who turn in a claim. De Beers has agreed to pay $295 million in all to settle the class action lawsuit.
To submit a claim, you must have purchased a diamond or diamond jewelry between Jan. 1, 1994 and March 31, 2006. Visit www.diamondsclassaction.com to fill out a claim form. The forms are due May 19, 2008.
