Is it really AWL 3? I read a description and it sounded more like
a marketing comparison than a statement. Maybe I didn't pay
enough attention to the details.
PF: just checked out the AWL 3 on the Dooney site. They say it is AWL, but lighter weight.
The bags are lined. The care instructions say to avoid creams and polishes, etc as they can
affect the pebbling.... that's the same as with the original AWL as the texture is produced by
shrinking the leather. So.... yes, it's AWL, by my definition.

Saw this ad spread in the December issue of U.S. Vogue and it brought back memories of Dooney bags I owned many yrs ago….
I purchased the barrel satchel in the green and it’s great quality. It’s really how I remember the AWL from the past.

Green has always been a classic Dooney color, and it seems that this coming spring,
the rest of the fashion world is featuring green also.

My old awl bags from the 80s were not lined...so I was curious about this one. That old leather was very thick and indestructible...never should have let some of those go...hoping this crossbody is of the same caliber or close. That green was just beautiful!
