Day-to-night pinky bag: Interlocking G or GG Marmont?

Hi everyone,

I’m choosing between one of these two bags.

The first one I found at the outlet and I’m new to Gucci so don’t know the name. I really like its shape and color and it’s grain
leather so the SA told me that it’s gonna be durable. I also like that it has the top handle which is classy for night out.

The 2nd one is the Small GG Marmont in Light Pink. I like the fact it can be worn crossbody or with shoulder strap but it doesn’t have a top handle. I also like its shape and color less than the 1st one but I find the GG buckle a touch more modern.

I want a bag for everyday to work (just in office) that can transform from day to night easily and it’s spring time so I’m in love with pink.

Pricewise the 1st one is a little bit more than €900 and the GG Marmont retails for €1.590 but I saw some preloved ones for €1.200-1.300.

Do you own one of these bags? Would you think that the GG Marmont is just temporarily trendy? What should I get in your opinion ?

I personally love the Marmont. I know a few think it's just a ripoff of the Chanel Classic Flap, but I really think it's gonna withstand the test of time. To my eyes, the Marmont would work better as both an office bag and a candlelit dinner bag. Other one seems too casual.

I’m not a marmont fan. If it were me I’d get the outlet bag. It’s classic and not everyone has it. Plus with the $ you save you can put it towards another bag or item you want. And based on your description, it sounds like you like the first one better.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I don't see the Marmont as Chanel Classic Flap wannabe at all cause I think that they're totally different in styles and prices! I also like the look of Marmont but just prefer top handle bag in general, you know how paradoxical women can be when it comes to choosing bag lol.

Hi, thank you for your sharing, that's what exactly what I had in mind! I do prefer the shape and color of the 1st one! Price wise the €300 difference may be not that important. I'm just thinking about whether to be gone with the... trend or just go different

Oh, this is a tough one. I absolutely love the look of both of these bags and I find them classic. I believe that the leather of the marmont bag is a bit more delicate and more prone to get creases so that’s something to consider. I haven’t seen the first one in real life though but I find that Gucci’s pebbled leather is very sturdy in general. But Marmont is so gorgeous too and I love my Marmont pieces.

I don’t think that you can go wrong with either of these. Good luck deciding!

Thank you! I went to Gucci store yesterday to try the GG Marmont and was pretty disappointed because it is too supple, I’m afraid that it cannot keep the structure and I like structured bags. The other bag is effectively more structured and the leather sturdier!

I have a small interlocking chain shoulder bag from the store, pre-fall 2015.

They're both nice and even not thinking about the price difference but in the Interlocking's favour:

It's more structured which is the deal breaker for you
It has silver hw (I prefer with the pink)
It has a top-handle too
The Interlocking G is less loaded-logo than the Running G

Yeah I think I’ll go with the 1st one, just i went back to the outlet to get it and this time the chain is gold not silver and I effectively prefer silver HW with pink! So I’m hesitating again, I know its crazy!!
