Hi everyone... just a quick question regarding date codes. I had a never full mm arrive today direct from LV (delivered by DHL couriers). When checking it over I did a quick check of the date code online like I always do and the Authenticator app said there was no such code. Surely this is a mistake.. I’m not concerned it’s a fake as I bought it directly off LV and it all looks legit but in the unlikely event I choose to sell it in the future I’m concerned I can’t prove it’s authentic.

One of two things could have happened: the first is that LV is always rolling out new date code sequences and it's very possible that the App you're using doesn't recognize it at the moment. The second is that whoever stamped the date code made an error with a number or a letter; I have an Artsy that was made in Texas, but it has a date code that states it was made in Oct 2018 which isn't correct since that workshop didn't start production until late 2019...so yeah, real bag straight from the store with a kooky code.
As for reselling, there's several ways to determine whether or not a bag is counterfeit and any trained authenticator (whether PF, paid services, or luxury resellers such as Fashionphile) will be able to identify your bag as real. The majority of paid services will provide documentation for your records as well which helps if you wanted to sell privately.

Thank you for your replies. From what I can tell it was made in the 50th week of 2020 in France so pretty recently... so maybe it is just too new for the Authenticator app. Appreciate the reassurance

I had something similar with my recent PM reverse purchase. I checked on a usual authenticate website and it didn't register so I tried another website and it gave me what I assumed the date code was.
