Does anyone know the difference between these colors? The regular 5 a 7 comes in dark red wine patent and the mini comes in patent in a color called grenade. They look nearly the same to me (photos from website attached). Has anyone seen both in real life? Therss also a colourway called spicy chocolate but its definitely darker and more brown/less red. 1000054868.jpg

Which is the grenade and which is the dark red? I prefer the color on the bag, not the cardholder. In any event, stay away from patent leather! Get other leather option. Patent will disappoint you.

The grenade (name of color on website but SA calling it red granit) is the mini 5 a 7 bag abs the card holder allegedly the dark red wine. I am not usually a big fan of red but I love this patent mini 5 a 7 in this shade. There's also this new bag in same shade but I'm leaning towards the mini. It's definitely much more vibrant than the wine colorway. I really like the patent but know it can be challenging.

Could you tell about the issues with patent? I've been thinking about the spicy chocolate in patent lately

I just ordered the mini 5 a 7 in the granit color. I've only had 1 patent bag (an old Valentino) which did prove to have issues over time BUT..... it was very different style than this.

Issues with patent are many. I had my share with Chanel and other brands.
It gets sticky over time.
In light colors, it yellows.
White spots appear on patent.
Some part of patent become not shiny but matte.

There isn't anything that you can do to repair/ restore patent leather. It does its own thing.

On shoes, which are very disposable goods, I wouldn't mind patent. But on a handbag which I assume you want to keep for a long time, I wouldn't consider patent leather. Just my experience.

I love patent leather and have a few bags in it ( had no idea back when I bought them about potential issues). Now that I live in a more humid climate, I am nervous about them getting sticky. I keep little silica packets around my closet but idk if that helps.

Extremely humid where I live so I will have to look into that. Very little experience with patent handbags. Only have 1 old Valentino one which did have issues in time but again, oldee old and very different style than the 5 a 7 bags. I do have 2 Prada spazzolatto bags which look similar to patent and are fine, but I just googled and spazzolato not the same as patent.

Hopefully the bags we both have will be ok!
