Damier, Taiga, or wait?

Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum and am hoping to get some advice.

I recently tried to special order the reporter GM in damier which up until yesterday could be done, until the SA informed me today that the model has just been discontinued and as such, they can't process the request as a SO anymore. if i still want it, then i would have to have it custom made. so here's my problem:

i really really love the reporter and its size is perfect for me, with just the right amount of storage and organisation etc. plus i'm a guy and i absolutely adore the damier print. if my SO request had been successful, i would have paid approx SGD $2,000 for the bag. But now that they want me to custom make the item, it's gonna cost wayyy more than that and i dont think i can justify the purchase anymore. what do you guys think, is it worth it? cause i'd been saving up for a really long time and this is quite a bummer.

also, for that kind of money, is there any other messenger bag styles i should consider instead? I guess if i had absolutely no choice, i wouldnt mind the broadway in damier or alexei in taiga. does anyone have any pictures of these??

any help/advice would be truly appreciated. thanks for reading my long post.

I think you should definitely explore other options... I don't think the Reporter is worth all of the money IMO! The Damier Naviglio is around the same size as the Reporter... there are many awesome messengers in Damier! Good luck with your search!

i'd say wait until the Damier Graphites come out. around August or September some say. they might do something similar to the Reporter GM

I agree. Just wait for the Fall/Winter collection to come in and see if there's anything there you'd like.

That seems to much for reporter. What about Utah Messenger?

thanks moko. but i have a wallet in utah and im very paranoid about getting scratches on it as the leather is very supple. an entire messenger bag made out of that material might just be too much stress for me to handle. lol. but thanks for the suggestion !
