I'm getting married later this year and as a wedding gift my fiance is giving me a bag! I've been eyeing the Croisette in DA, but I've heard the strap is very long and I'm 5'2. How do any of you petite croisette holders find it? My only other concern is the vachetta strap. I have a Mono Speedy 25 and really feel like I have to baby the handles. I also like the Saint Laurent Lou in white but I do already have a few camera bags (Gucci Marmont Mini camera bag in mint and a Prada pink camera bag). I did consider the Croisette in DE but my Alma BB is DE so I wanted to go for something different. Opinions welcome!

Congratulations!!!

I’m 5’1” and the Croisette is just too long. No two ways about it. That particular non-adjustable strap isn’t made for shorties like us :P Another thing I personally didn’t like about that bag was the handle - it’s stationary, so if it’s crossbody and you have to open it the handle is annoying. I actually ended up with the Bond Street instead and love it, that strap isn’t too long despite not being adjustable and the handle moves so it’s easier to get into while crossbody. You did say you didn’t want DE though so that’s out.

If you’re worried about vachetta, DA might not be the bag for you.

If you like camera bags, there’s nothing wrong in having several of the same style in different brands and colors! It sounds like you don’t have a white one, and you don’t have a YSL one.

I have the DE Croisette and just love it but I am taller than you so the strap works ok for me. I wanted to suggest another DA bag for you that has an adjustable strap. It’s the Mini Deauville and is a similar size to the Croisette.

I have the Croisette in DE and I love it. Yes, the strap is long so I use my de speedy b’s strap so I can adjust the length. There is an online store which sells the vachetta straps which is very affordable and matches well to LV’s. The name is Organize My Bags.

I have the Croisette in DE and I am 5'3. The strap is def longer for cross body to me. I also have small YSL Loulou bag and perfect as cross body. All of purses that I have, I use Croisette the most, it is just perfect for every outfit and easy to take care of it for me. I am not a huge fan of DA because of vachetta strap.

I have both. The YSL holds significantly more, the Croisette is not labeled as a mini bag but the capacity is very mini. They are very different, especially since the YSL is leather and the Crosiette is not. My honest opinion is that (for the $) the YSL is the better value.

Congratulations! If you are considering other bags in DA, I second recommending the deauville mini- I have this bag in mono and love the size! I might get it in DA as well for a light summer bag. Really lovely camera bag style, but a bit less formal than the top handle style of the croisette.

The deauville mini has the treated vachetta leather so it is a bit darker already, which makes it less fussy in terms of staining IMO - and the strap is adjustable and removable, too so more versatility in strap length. You could also swap the strap out to change up the look, say with a bandouliere or guitar type strap.

The double zip pochette in DA has an adjustable strap, too. It would be lovely with a gold chain strap as well.

Or could you get an additional adjustable strap for the DA croisette that would work better for your height? Still a lot of vachetta if that is a worry, but it’s such a pretty bag! Good luck deciding :smile:

I'm 5'1 and own the Croisette in DE. Unfortunately, the crossbody strap is very long so I had to buy an off-brand shorter strap on Etsy - I went with a 41" strap but 42" would've worked well, too.

I think the Croisette in DA is very pretty, especially with a bandeau tied on the handle but it does seem like a high maintenance bag with the vachetta handle, middle tab, and strap. The Youtuber Amber Ashleigh has the bag in DA if you want to check out her review videos.

The YSL camera bag is also really cute and definitely on my wishlist, so I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. Good luck and congrats on your wedding!

Did you see this new croisette? I‘m also 5’2” and found the original to be too long, but this is 1.5” shorter! I’m hoping it’s a better fit, it comes tomorrow for me :)
