I am in search of someone that can make a bag to my specifications. I am willing to spend a decent amount of money on high quality work and materials. Any references here in the states would be most appreciated-preferably in the Northeast somewhere.

Laurel Dasso on Etsy, she does great work and has awesome leathers including ostrich hides. Rough and Tumble on Etsy I think they will make some modifications to their bags. Laurel is in New York and Rough and Tumble is in Maine

Have you heard of Beatrice Amblard? She has craftsman experience at Hermes. Here's her site. She has a shop in SF.

Just checked out her website and I was amazed - the edges, the stitching, the designs - and no offense intended but far above the average etsy artists. And she runs a school to teach the craft as well. Yes, her prices are in the premier design tier but if you compare to some of the couture houses, I'm guessing her prices are quite reasonable. And I love her bee logo. Definitely will look in on my next trip to SF.

If anyone has purchased from Beatrice recently, please post pictures, would love to see some closeups and read comments on how they wear.
