hey everyone. with the chance of being labeled as the "girl who asks absurd questions," here goes ..

i know that a lot of women get their engagement rings custom made with their choice of settings, cut, diamond, etc. i was wondering if there are jewelers out there that make custom rings without a hefty diamond to work around?

i want the Dior 'Oui' Ring as a promise ring, but i know that they aren't available anywhere and the $625 price tag for a ring that "dainty" is kinda pricey. so, just like some girls who get the tiffanys setting somewhere other than tiffanys for a better deal, i'd like to get the dior ring somewhere other than dior for not only a better deal, but because of the availability.

i hope you guys don't think i'm trying to make a replica out of it or anything. :sad: it's not like that. i just really love this design and would love to have this ring. i think the whole symbolism behind the "yes" is super creative.

any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

I have this ring and I LOVE it. Got mine from Dior in Paris a few years ago. Have you called a Dior Joallerie boutique? I think this would be pretty hard to replicate but I don't know for sure, maybe if you had a good jeweler.

I love this ring. I just checked the Dior website and it let me add it to my bag in the random size I picked - so I'd say it was still available (UK).
Dior has one of those annoying websites though that fills the screen, bit daunting on a 30" monitor :nuts:

ILoveMyBug i'm going to head over to the dior website right now and try it!! thanks for the heads up! if anything, i'm going to call a Dior boutique here and see if they can get any from the UK cos my local retailer said they're out. =(

Swanky Mama Of Three you're right. after thinking about it a little while longer, i think i should just hold out for the REAL thing since the whole 'oui' concept is Dior's.

This is the best I could do at the moment, you can see the scale of the ring. I'll try to take a closer pic in the next couple days. Good luck finding it, I never take mine off and it's one of the best buys I've ever made!

Does Dior do sales on jewelry? Everything I read is that retail sales numbers for the holiday season are going to be poor. Week before/after Christmas is when retailers will have sales. I'd wait & see if it goes on sale.
