Is there even such a thing anymore of “it” bags? I’m curious as I’ve been out of the loop. Wondering what is a great quality but stylish desirable bag that is not a one season trend!
Can’t wait to read responses here!

The "It" bag concept has long ago died away, and they were all ultimately seasonal anyway, popular one year and gone the next. Now, I would say there is something similar in each brand, a new model or bag color that appears and people go insane for it. LV's Pochette Metis has quite the following, and I see plenty of love for Hermes new Bleu Encre leather.

Thanks for response. Do you know if balenciaga bags and saint Laurent are still drawing a following? In my area, it is all Vuitton and Gucci. I see Chloe on occasion and mcm is rare. Not much others except longchamp carried by high school and college kids.

LV Pochette Metis is popular where I am (Melbourne CBD, Australia) Also LV Neverfull and Speedy B of course. I often see these on Asians. I am Asian too btw but I'm not a fan of LV.

Gucci is also very popular among Asians. There's always a line outside the Gucci store in Collins Street. MCM backpacks are a favourite among Asian international students. I actually wanted one but never got around to buying it.

I also see Chanel mainly the WOCs, some Boy and Gabrielle.

For contemporary, Michael Kors, Coach and Kate Spade.

White Australians (at least, the ones I see in the CBD) usually favour discreet bags. I think a lot of them patronise Aussie brands like Mimco, etc.

My favourites Balenciaga, Givenchy and YSL, I see these rarely.

But basically, it's all about the crossbody bags.

There is no IT bags and i think that’s a good thing! You should explore and go for whatever bag works for your budget and lifestyle.
I don’t want to be carry the same bag as every second person on the street!
There are some popular bags going on atm in my city, givenchy antigona, Gucci marmont, soho, LV neverfull and speedy, Alma bb, Palm spring mini and always on formal occasions black chanel CF paired with Valentino. I’ve noticed a massive sale of chanel wocs in the market, possibly from those after a CF and made the mistake of settling for a woc. I’ve also seen some ridiculous resell price for Chanel minis
Balenciaga city style was popular years ago but I’m not surprised that there’re less common as people choose to spend their $$$ on other bags. They’re like the prada saffiano imo. I probably liked the city bag years ago but never own one, and definitely don’t have the desire to spend retail on one when I can get something “fresher”
My friends in Asia countries commented that the most common bags are chanel and Hermes, with lindy being the most popular mums bag.

Thanks for responses! I wonder if goyard is popular in places other than New York and Florida. I’m thinking of purchasing one.

Currently in South Korea and here in Seoul, Goyard is super popular. Almost every second woman is carrying a Goyard. Other popular bags are Chanel (Boy and classic) and Hermes. Celine, LV and Gucci are also popular. I rarely see Chloe, YSL and other bags.

Why massive sale of Chanel WOCs? Their price just went up 19% a couple days ago!

Doesn’t mean the preloved market will maintain the price? Or perhaps people are offloading before the bags break apart, it’s just a wallet with chain, doesn’t fit much?
I’ve also seen a lot of vintage LV in Japan, it’s nice to see well loved bags than carrying the latest “IT” bags and flip shortly after for resale
