I went this morning and the two bags they had were both damaged in a similar way. I’m wondering if others have experienced this with theirs? I’ll admit, the damage is hard to see unless the light catches it just right and/or you go looking. Even the SA at first couldn’t see what I was talking about and eventually conceded that yes, a bunch of crystals had chips in them. She said she hadn’t had anyone complain about that before, which I can believe since the damage isn’t right in your face.

I’ve been eyeballing this purse for months so I really didn’t want to return it, but I also didn’t want to keep endlessly ordering and returning so I picked the least damaged one and she gave me a deeper discount, which I appreciated. The SA was great, but the situation as a whole was offputting.

I noticed on the three I saw it is mostly the darker coloured gems that are chipped. I’m curious if anyone has this bag and just never noticed the damage or did notice and returned it.

Also, it took what felt like an eternity to unwrap every little rose, I would think I would have noticed cracks while unwrapping? I will definitely check them thoroughly later.

If yours was completely wrapped up it is likely fine, I would think. The one I received and the ones at the store had already been unwrapped and handled etc. The SA had said ideally finding one with every rose still covered would rectify the situation but unsure of how long it would take to find one, and I just wasn’t in the mood to have to trek back to a store or even the 45 minutes to a ups to ship it.

But a lot of the damage was hard to see and you’d have to run your nail over the spots you suspect to see if it catches. Fingers crossed yours is intact

I just ordered this bag so I’ll keep an eye out for this issue when I get it. I have to be honest though-I’m not sure I see the damage in your photos so I’ not quite sure exactly what I’ll be looking for. Is it that the crystals are chipped In any case, thanks for the heads up about it. I’m so sorry your bag isn’t perfect!

It is hard to see, yes. I don’t think I would have noticed it if the light didn’t hit just right and allow me to see a discolouration. In the close up picture it is especially noticeable to the right, you can see the gem is chipped and you can see metal pan along the side, which you don’t see on unbroken stones. If you run your nail over them it becomes very obvious as you can feel all the rough broken edges.
You can’t see it in the full picture, I included it as in two bags all of those circled stones were broken in the exact same spots which struck me as odd.

I am probably too anal when it comes to this stuff, but hey I pay good money for it, I expect to be the one to ding it up. Hopefully yours is in perfect condition :)

So both my rogue and dinky have tiny chips in a few crystals and I've never carried them yet. It appears to be from placing the crystal within the prongs. I find this color combo absolutely gorgeous though so won't be returning, but I will be extra careful with them now. I don't think I will try to exchange since both arrived factory wrapped, as the sale goes on it's more likely I'd receive a store display as stock goes down.

Ah, yes, now that I know what I'm looking at, I see it in the close-up photo. I don't think you've too anal at all. We are obviously buying these bags, in part, because of the crystals. Obviously we want them to be in tact!

I got my bag, and mine also has chips in three of the crystals. I could't find any more, but I also didn't completely unwrap it yet. It arrived in factory packaging with all the tea-roses wrapped so I'm not sure what to do. Customer service told me to exchange it, but I'm not convinced that I would get one in better condition since they are so hard to see upon first glance. I think I'm going to try and go in-store to see if they have any I can inspect and exchange. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Just wanted to post an update - I went in-store, and they brought out the 4 crystal tea rose rogues they had in stock for me to inspect. Of the 4, there were two that had no chips I could find, and I took home the one that looked best overall to me. I inspected all of them for quite some time,so if there ARE chips then they are very insignificant as I could not find them.

Also, I hadn't mentioned this in my first post, but I had also ordered the crystal tea rose dinky in sage and metalic because I wasn't sure exactly which bag I wanted. The dinkys are both going back as I will be more use out of the rogue, but I did inspect them and did not find chips on either dinky. I just wanted to circle back to this in case anyone is thinking about buying a crystal tea rose piece but is scared - there are ones out there with no chips! If possible, I would definitely try to buy these pieces in-person though so you can inspect them thoroughly yourself.

Yay! I’m glad you were able to get one without chips.
And absolutely don’t be discouraged, they are beautiful, but being able to inspect in person seems to be the way to go.
