Hi, first time writing here, but I finally decided to get myself a crossbody bag and I have been eying both the small Gucci Marmont camera bag and the small Ysl loulou bag. Which one do you prefer and why? Need to be able to wear it crossbody (I have a 11 months old baby, so need the handsfree option), I am quiet short though, only 5 ft 1 and want to use it as an everyday bag, but still be able to use it going out for dinner, after works, etc. Thanks in advance!

Thank you! I'm leaning towards the Marmont bag, just a bit afraid it's a trend bag that soon will be out of style (have been thinking about buying it for years already but never did)..

I agree that the marmont is a bit of a trend bag, but I do believe it will be on trend for at least 3 more years! But I'm 5"4 and the strap is just slightly long on me. Have you looked into other brand camera bags, perhaps? I do find Gucci very trendy and perhaps another brand may be better. The YSL Matelasse Camera bag fits a bit more and is very practical, I like the gold hardware on that one, and I don't think is as trendy.

Thank you for your respons. I have understood that the strap probably will be to long for my height/my liking, but I heard of others having more holes made on the strap and I am thinking whether that could be an option. I have looked at other camera bags, but not found any that I like.. The Ysl is pretty, but not really my stile.. Thank for the suggestion though!

Hm. I don't believe that strap is adjustable in the first place though, you can't add holes... You can with the Gucci Soho Disco, but the Marmont camera bag is non-adjustable strap; it's just a flat simple piece of leather! Best of luck finding something that works out perfect.

This is the small bag and it has an adjustable strap unlike the mini which does not have an adjustable strap. On the shortest setting, it is a perfect crossbody for me but if I wear it as a shoulder bag, it is longer than I like so I have been wondering if I should take it to a shoe repair place where they can add more holes in the strap or return it. I love the color so I think I am going to look into some options to shorten the strap so I can use it as a shoulder bag.

I disagree about the misconception of the Marmont being a trend bag, as the design is very classic. I have been looking at it for years and just decided to purchase the velvet in taupe. Such a lovely and practical bag to own for someone like me who commutes daily. I also have the Gucci Soho Disco bag and absolutely adore it. Look how long that has been around. Bottom line is to buy what you love and what works well with your life and style. Good luck!

I agree with you! I have been looking at this bag and other Marmont bags for years and I think it is becoming a classic and really think the design is classic. Actually decided to order the Marmont bag and got it today! I am in love and feel that the strap is fine on me, but will consider to make e few more holes to be able to wear it on the shoulder as well. Thanks for your reply!
