Hey all! I’m pretty new to the H family after making my first (albeit small) purchase from the store in Sydney. I totally understand what people mean when they say there’s just no going back once you start collecting H!

Now I’m very aware of the process of acquiring a B/K/C (stunning bags but just couldn’t see myself wearing one as a guy) and how much harder it is to even be offered an exotic skin in one of those bags, but I’ve had my heart set on owning a croc/alligator wallet/cardholder in the near future! (Literally dreaming about croc skin last night)

Right now on the Australian website they have a gorgeous MC ² Copernic wallet in black Mississippiensis Alligator but I’m not a fan of black accessories. If I walked into my store and asked to be shown other exotic accessories would they be happy to or is this something I should work my way up to?

I look forward to reading about your experiences and advice!

They'd be happy to sell you it, assuming they have it in stock. They may even be willing to transfer it in for you if you are genuine enough. Here in the USA there are often Croc bags (Lindys etc) on the shelf and Croc accessories under the glass for anyone to purchase. Happy hunting!

Yep! you can literally go to any H store and ask for one. Most stores don't have too many colors in stock however.

Funny thing is it's usually easier to buy even exotic Birkins and Kellys than normal B/K because the high pricepoint tends to sway off most customers so there is less of a waitlist for the exotics.

You should always let it be known what you would be interested in buying. Even if it is a B or K.
If you don't, you could be waiting a very long time and get very disillusioned.
Another point to note is that although the online store is a very good reference point, it is not a catalogue of what us available at a walk-in store. There are two different arms to the Hermes business.
You can order online and collect instore.
More useful, I have always found that instore SAs will check if any other stores in your town have what you are looking for. They will also ask for transfer from other stores - even in other countries, but that might only be within the same continent.
