Hi
So I've decided to try and refresh the color on my petticoat white alexa and my local mulberry store recommended collonil of course - no surprise there! ;)
My problem is finding the right color and product and that's where you talented ladies come in

I've found following products on amazon :

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Collonil-Pa...TF8&qid=1382687331&sr=8-142&keywords=collonil

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Collonil-Da...=UTF8&qid=1382687746&sr=8-6&keywords=collonil
- The white one

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Collonil-Un...UTF8&qid=1382687844&sr=8-11&keywords=collonil

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Collonil-Un...TF8&qid=1382688048&sr=8-105&keywords=collonil

Which one would you choose?
Also do you use leather gel or premium lotion for everyday use?

Thank you so much for your help

- Nanna

Thanks
Here is the bag as it looks now

Do you Think the neutral color will be enough to cover the areas where the color is gone?

I wouldn't have thought Collonil will be able to sort out the areas where the colour has actually gone, like on the piping. I would only expect it to brighten areas that look a little dull and bring the colour back up a bit

I think the only way you will do that is with a professional job or a leather dye but then it's so difficult to match the colour yourself

Depend s how much you want to pay I guess. Having it restored professionally will be expensive but far less that. A new bag ;)

^^ ITA with Mulberrygal, Furniture Clinic do very good restration - for this colour I think it's worth it. Google and have a look of before & after pics. Collonil won't be enough imo.

Good luck!!!

Thanks Ladies .. I might have to consider it .. But it's exspensive and bit more difficult ( Im from Denmark) Im affraid something will happen to it while it's on it's Way -Gets lost for ex.

Just make sure it's insured for its full value when you post. Over here we would use RM Special delivery, I have posted expensive bags with no problems, fingers crossed but if they are covered okay I don't see there is a problem

When you think of how much a new Alexa cost it would be well worth it really.

I have a petticoat white Alexa too and am having the same problems in trying to get it clean, so thank you for your advice.

If you are thinking of a professional restoration you might want to consider having a colour change. If it's a bag you use regularly in this colour it will always be prone to problems. I have a PB Alexa and love it to bits but must admit I am very selective when I use it and it still looks gorgeous.

Have a look at s_kats reveal, the bag looks stunning

A little more expensive than a restoration I expect but still a fraction of the price of a new Alexa and well worth it I would say.

I have also used the Furniture Clinic and had some very good results

I have considered that.. But it would be a shame to change this lovely Colour
I dont use it that often - mostly on big shopping sprees and special occations.
I have contacted furniture clinic for a Price.. So I'll decide when they respond
I also have a bayswater where the pipping has come undone so perhaps it will be a good idea
