Which would you choose? Is the higher price of the LV/Chanel worth it? I didn't love the pillowy look when these first came out but am thinking they may be great for relaxed luxe, something that can be worn casual or dressed up. What is the wear and tear on these? Hoping for something that feels comfortable crossbody and compatible with busy on-the-go life that won't look in sad shape after a few months without babying.

I had a Coussin PM and sold it - I had the original version where the outside zip contacted the inside up every time I zipped it, which I didn’t like. But the main reason I sold it was the poor war and tear I saw on used bags - maybe they were beat on, but I was worried about the debossed monogram fading over time as well as the bag looking deflated. Having said that, I think the newer model with leather lining and no colliding zipper is definitely an improvement over the version I had.

I have the Chanel 19 and it is one of my most used bags - it seems to be “relatively” hard wearing (there are pics in the Chanel pages of Tracy washing tomato sauce off the outside of her 19 in the sink with soap and it is fine! Not that I have personally tried this though :) ). I love the back pocket of the 19, and it holds a decent amount. I have an organizer from handbag angels with support for the bag sides and base to reduce structure loss over time, which I highly recommend if you like the rectangular shape. It really is an easy bag to throw on cross body (or hand carry) and go, and if you want to shoulder carry there are lots of ways on YouTube to shorten the strap with clips or wrapping it. Mine does not look sad and it is a couple of years old.

I have no personal experience with the YSL puffer, but I do like the look of it, and I like the option of short or long chain with the 4 grommets on the small and medium. It looks like the folded corners typically show some wear when you look at the used market, but the rest of the bag seems to hold up well!

Sorry I couldn't figure out how to put all pics in one post! Realize these are really different in terms of color and HW, but I'm generally looking for something luxe that was still carefree, that I could use to dump essentials in and get out the door and carry w/ ease, want to look for a small to medium bag that isn't a tote and that can crossbody.

Thanks for the detailed reply! Glad the Chanel 19 is holding up well for you after a few years. I can definitely look into an organizer insert as long as it doesn't make the bag heavy or bulky. It's annoying to have a big crossbody bag banging around at the hip, though at least it's the trend to wear straps shorter like a bum bag. They have inserts on Etsy for the Coussin as well, not sure if any one has tried?

All the MM Coussin I've seen on resale sites look a bit saggy, though the PM generally look fine.

Am mainly debating the Coussin vs. Chanel 19 now for fall/winter. I may well get the YSL in the cream or heather sweatshirt material for spring, though I am conflicted about paying so much for a sweatshirt bag!

I loved my Coussins in the beginning but I rarely reach for them now. Chanel has never worked for me but I think it’s a beautiful bag and if you will use it , get it. I also think the YSL bags are so pretty…

Between those 3, I would go for Chanel. They make more classic bags with staying power (though they’ve made some strange ones too!). Organizers from Zoomoni have the option of 1.2 mm felt inserts, they are very lightweight and don’t add bulk while protecting your bag. You can also ask them to leave pockets out of the organizer if you don’t need or want the extra fabric. Let us know!!

I have two Chanel 19s and the LV Coussin PM. I love all of them but there are also pros and cons.

The LV is much easier to wear crossbody because of the nylon strap. The 19 has a longer strap but it isn't adjustable. The leather on the LV is gorgeous. If you're really tall, the 19 won't hang as low on your body.

The LV is also easier for storage because it's deeper than the 19. It's also a little more under the radar than the 19.

The 19, of course, is Chanel so the star factor is higher.
