I tried asking this in the courtenay clubhouse but it said the thread was too old So it wouldn't let me.

I've been thinking about getting a courtenay but was wondering about the wear after a while. I have legacy duffles and was wondering if the Courtenay showed wear like those did on the corners since it sits right on the leather on the bottom or if it holds up more. I do protect all my bags and try to limit the wear. And know the legacy duffles were meant to do that. But haven't seen how courtenay wears after a while. if someone could post after a good use or just comment that would help. Thank you

I haven't carried mine that much so it doesn't have any wear. I think it would wear better than the duffles because it doesn't have sharp corners.

You can revive the courtenay clubhouse. You just have to click the box that says you know how old the thread is and want to post anyway.

Thanks whateve. I didn't see that option when I tried.

I was worried about the bottom. I know it doesn't have sharp corners like the duffle but wasn't sure about the bottom wearing like the duffle since it doesn't have feet to protect it when being set down.

May I ask why you don't carry yours?

I have lots of bags so each bag only gets carried a little bit. My Courtenay is a Spring color so I'll be carrying it later this year.

I don't put my bags down many places, just in the car and on a table at home. At a restaurant, I'll hang it from the chair or put it on a chair of its own.

If I was concerned, I would rub a heavy duty conditioner like Blackrocks on it before I carried it.

What color were you considering?

I figured on getting black first since I'm not sure how i will really like it on. But i love my legacy duffles using the strap doubled. And liked how the courtenay had a shorter strap option to begin with and a larger pocket on the front. Thought courtenay may be a better option for travel than the duffle on wear showing Too much to soon.

I love Courtenay! I think I like it better than the duffles. I have more duffles just because they came in such great colors. I love the bigger pocket on Courtenay. I love the drop on the short strap and the way the top curves so it has a perfect built-in slouch. The bag isn't as deep so it is easier to see inside and reach your things. It's also easier to switch straps if you ever want to use the long strap.

Thank you as always. I have a few duffles and 2 EW duffles and i do love them along with my phoebes but i don't want to take them on a trip that I'm less careful with my bags then. And thought the courtenay would be a great replacement to not have much wear come out. I do have a siggy duffle that i could use but i really always prefer leather over the fabric.

I gave my daughter a Black Courtenay for Christmas 2012. (It was still a pilot bag at that time). Unlike her mom and older sister she is not a purse fanatic and uses the same bag every day. That Courtenay is still being used by her! Every once in a while when she comes over I grab it from her and give it some conditioner. I am amazed at how beautifully this bag has held up! It still looks as nice as it did when it was new.
