I have a few brooches/pins that I have that have a raised silhouette of a woman on them. I have looked, and looked , and looked some more for some that match, but none do. so please if someone could tell me any information about them, it would be greatly appreciated.

It might help if you posted some pictures. Cameo and intaglio brooches have been popular for a very long time.
Sounds like you have some Cameos. I have a couple of cameo brooches that belonged to my Grandmother & 1 unset cameo. I haven't found a jeweler that's willing to set it because of it's age. It can't be replaced if it's damaged during the setting process. Can you post some pictures of what you have? Cameos are hand carved from shell & sometimes coral. Each one is unique & no two are exactly alike. The more detailed & the more figures that are in them, the more valuable they are. I have one that my Dad brought back to his mother when he was stationed in Japan in the 40's. It's very unique because the profile of the woman looks more like a Geisha than a Victorian woman. I haven't seen another one like it.
