Cost benefit to buying in Europe?

Is there any cost benefit to buying Hermes in Europe? I know you get back VAT, but then you must pay tax on amount over duty free. Is the true benefit availlability and selection.

i think you still end up cheaper with taking out VAT & paying duty. the availability is paris is sometimes better.
