Hi everyone! I will be finishing my quarantine this Sunday!
I am thinking of having consultation from these plastic surgery clinics
DA, NANA, View, and ID.

I'm Asian American in mid 30s
I am thinking of doing my eyes, nose, and possibly facial contouring! (If i don't chicken out :P)

I'm thinking of sharing my experiences here with everyone!
If you guys have any suggestions let me know, please!

I am not familiar with DA or NANA, but please do not go to View and ID. They're known are factory clinics and basically no locals go there because of they're shady business, like shadow doctors, botched results and even death at ID if I'm not wrong. Those clinics that excessively advertise towards foreigner is a BIG no-no. There's a reason why they advertise towards foreigner; because locals desn't dare to go there. Try and find more clinics that are popular within locals! If you know any Korean there are apps like Gangnam Unni you can use, but be careful of brokers there too! Or else, I believe you can also ask the people there! I have also heard about Dream for eyes and nose and that they have very natural results! For facial contouring, please be aware that sagging is unavoidable and nerve damage can happen. I know some clinics do certain contour injections to try and elimate fat around the face so the face can appear slimmer, without the bone cutting as well. Might be a good idea just to check out before deciding on such an invasive procedure!

Also a tip: try and find a clinic in the Apgujeong area! As those are the ones locals usually trust the most. Since it's a very expensive district, the clinics have to maintain a very high customer service to not go broke. And ALWAYS make sure the surgeon is board certified! Because of Korean laws, it's easy for just dentist to do plastic surgery too! So make sure the surgeon you choose specialise in those areas!

I wish you the best!!

Hello, guys, it has been a crazy few days!

I was so busy enjoying my life after quarantine (shopping & food) and consultations.

I didn't really have time to sit and update this post yet

I find the time to update it really soon!

Excited to hear about your updates !! I’ve been doing my own research also, I just did a consult with ID but I just researched about shadow doctors in Korea and it’s a big issue !! Super scary , we definitely need to do a lot of research before deciding.

NANA:
Personal Rating: 8/10 (Unrealistic promises)

Consultation with NANA was easy and nice! Once I arrived at the clinic their English-speaking staff helped interpreted and assisted me through every process. The facility was modern and efficient, but it was smaller than what I always imagined. The consultation with doctors was also very smooth. I did a consultation for my eyes, nose, and facial contouring.

However, I did not like the fact that everyone from the clinic made it seemed everything I requested from the doctor will be possible. (I requested the result to look the same as some model photos that even I think I went too far LOL!) I was hoping to get detailed answer about what I can expect and what I should not hope for, but I didn’t.

In the end, I couldn’t neglect the feeling that they were overselling me unrealistic dreams so that I would have the surgery at their clinic. This made me lose their trust a little. So I told them I would think about it and left without putting down the deposit money they suggested in return for discount.

Also NANA was my first consultation in Korea so I had to check other places out!

View
Personal Rating: 2/10 (Very unpleasant experiences)

My consultation with View was rather weird, unlike doctors from NANA, doctors from View seemed like they were all annoyed for some unknowing reason! I couldn’t tell if they were like that from overworking since the clinic was quite empty...

Also, again, unlike doctors from NANA, they spent less than 5 min with me. I did not even have the chance to show them the photos I have prepared!

The price they suggested was cheaper than NANA, but I couldn’t leave my fate on the hand doctors from this clinic. I told them that I will need to more time before making final decision, and will give them a call once I'm ready. I was surprised and upset that both the consultant?, and the translator immediately showed unpleasant emotion after I told them that.

ID:
Personal Rating 7/10 (Long waiting time + Very expensive + pestering consultant)

First, they actually were quite packed with local customers. After registering at the 1st floor I waited around 15 min for the English translator to arrive. Which I didn’t understood since I booked a reservation here few days before visiting. Moreover, I had to wait another 20+ min for a consultation room and this was the longest waiting time out of all the clinics I visited.

Despite the long waiting time, the consultation was great! Most ID doctors were friendly, attentive and professional same as doctors from NANA. They actually spend the longest time explaining all the details. I feel that I can trust these ID doctors more since the were very honest with me and told me all the things that should and should not expect.

However, unfortunately, the price was way out of my budget! The regular price they suggested me initially were double the price of NANA and View! Also It might have not been entirely accurate but I had basic idea of the Korean plastic surgery prices from researching!

Moreover, if the consultant would have just stopped talking and pestering me for a few moments, explaining all the unrealistic benefit of choosing ID and gave me think quietly for few minute I might have decide to put down a deposit since they offered me large discount and I actually liked their doctors.

DA:
Personal Rating: 9.5/10 (Quite high price + )
I would like to say that DA was the last consultation I had and I booked my surgery with them. The facility was modern and efficient. Also the entire DA building seemed quite new! Both DA and ID was packed with local customers, but I felt that DA was less disordered than ID. The staffs at DA weren't outstandingly friendly or kind, but everything here just felt like a big hospital with a well-educated and organized system.

The doctors at DA were also friendly, attentive and professional. They spend a little less time with me than ID, and they spent more time listening to my needs rather than speak of their opinion more. They also were very honest about what is achievable and what is not.

After the consultation, both consultant and the translator, went through the surgery plan again with me, and informed me the price and the promotion options I can choose. Also they asked me straight if there is anything else they can do for me to make up my mind easier. So I told them I would love for them to include more post-operative treatments and they agreed.

In conclusion, DA simply provided me with everything I personally considered important.
I will be doing my surgery this week! July 22th! Wish me luck everyone! I’ll keep you all updated as much as I can!
