Hi, everyone! I'm considering a black lizard Constance 18cm and would like to know the opinion of dear TPFers on this bag. Do you think it will age in good condition? And does anyone know if Hermès still produces it? Thankful very much in advance.

I don't normally post in the Hermes forum (just lurk), but my mom has a lizard Constance from over 20 years ago, and save for some wear and tear around the strap, it still looks fantastic to me. It's one of her most loved bags, and she's always taken care of it, but to my knowledge she's never babied it, and she still uses it all the time. So while I don't know anything about Hermes still producing it, I do know it ages well. The strap has experienced some peeling, and Hermes said it would cost about 3 thousand dollars to replace, but I still think it looks fabulous, especially for a bag that's about the same age as me. I think its aged better, actually!

Don't know if it is produced but whether it will be offered is quite another thing. I have a vintage other bag in lizard about 25 years old and the lizard skin is still beautiful very much intact. Some fraying on the straps but that is the leather and stitches coming apart not the lizard.

I just purchased one about 7 months ago from Hermes so they still make them, but I was told it is the first one the store had seen in years.
still made pretty rare and yes LIZZIE is a sturdy exotic i love the Little bag and eventually Darling not that its very much needed a trip to the spa not replacing anything just to nurture the skin and maybe hydrate again spoa would do it good but i agree beautiful patina show more pictures modeling perhaps !!!!!
