CONFUSED....REALLY NEED OPINIONS on MK'S Watch......

Hi All,

I am in the market for a Michael Kors Watch. I definitely know what style I am going to purchase, but am SO CONFUSED as to the metal I am going to choose. I have thought about the following reasons for each metal color:

1) Gold - has been the featured metal color for watches on his models in the MK's catalog for years, but still remains a very viable choice. The salesperson said they sell this color far more than any other.

2) Rose Gold - newer choice in his metal colors and has a very unique appeal. Also, the salesperson thought it looked better on me than the gold, but I was still not sure.

3) Stainless - seems to be his latest metal color per his website as seen on all his models. Is this the newest metal to choose?

I could really use your input as to the color choice and why. I am in my 40's, like to dress in a very stylish manner, but do not have to have the latest of everything, as in an extreme trend. I hope this helps! Thanks in advance!

I would go for YG or RG. YG is classic while RG looks better on most peoples' skin tone. I love these colors more than the white because yg and rg are warm toned. I prefer white gold/SS/platinum watches more on men. If you don't want to be wearing three different metals, go for the YG, but I am a firm believer of mixing metals, so I wouldn't think RG would look out of place either.

I would go with whatever colour most of your other daily jewelery is. I own the stainless steel one because I wear mostly silver/WG. I LOVE this watch and I would recommend it (in any colour) to anyone! I get tons of compliments on it!

I own this is in the yellow gold. I think it's classic and won't ever go out of style. I think this design is too plain for the stainless steel. For some reason the stainless looks boring and cold, I wouldn't go for that one. As for the rose, it's up to you. You said the salesperson thought it looked better on you, not that you did. I think you like the yellow and would be more comfortable with that one. Rg is back in popularity right now, but that will fade eventually. In the end though, go with what you love. It doesn't matter if it's in or out of style.

Let me add that if you're only planning on ever buying one, then I would definitely say the YG, but if your finances can afford two and you eventually want to get two, then get RG too. :smile1:

i say, definitely the rose gold! the yellow gold and stainless are too usual... go different and try the rose gold. and it seems like it would go well with the other jewelry you wear. a little pink, a little gold.

I appreciate all of your input!! I have just looked at MK's website. He seems to be pushing the stainless watches for Spring 2011 per his models, but then again he has had them in the gold Runway watches for years now. I suppose he needs new sales on the stainless, as that is the way you keep the money coming in if you are a designer!

Although stainless seems to be the way he is going, I think I am going gold or rose gold. I do not think I will go stainless, as I have a Michele stainless and want something very different. I thought the gold looked really sharp on, but the salesperson seemed so drawn to the rose gold, I got confused. The rose gold was a very pretty color. It caused the watch to be much more subdued than the gold. Also, I, too, think my jewelry would go with both! I would not mind having both of them, but doubt I will.

I fell in love with a different RG MK watch. It was sooo lovely. I do like YG on people too.
Hm...I think I'll vote YG because it is more classic, but if you are buying it more for a fashion watch, then I vote RG.
If you have a fossil watch nearby check there. I reeeeally wanted a gunmetal MK a few years ago and found it at the Fossil Outlet for $69. It's still one of my favorite watches.
