I posted this in the LV forum as well. I want to get perspective from LV lovers and MK lovers alike!

I bought a Michael Kors Bedford Bowling Satchel and I adore it. I am experiencing feelings of guilt and confusion. I have been exclusively LV for the last year but when I took out my MK I loved how functional it was, how amazingly soft the leather is, and, for once, people not JUST oogling my bag but ALSO complimenting it! (i get tons of looks but few compliments on my LVs) I loved not being paranoid about putting a $1k+ bag on the floor/dirty table etc.

Most people 'move up' from MK to LV as their love for beautiful bags 'progresses' - I feel like I'm going the wrong way!

End rant.

I just got the Bedford bowling satchel too and love it :) What color did you get? I don't blame you about not wanting to put the LV on the floor. It's hard to have such a pricey bag for everyday in my opinion.

I have yet to make a LV purchase because I just can't make myself shell out $1300 for the bag I want, but that's me. I love MK bags but recently branched in to Rebecca Minkoff and I'm looking into other bags as well. I think it's great that you got a bag you love and if it's cheaper than what your used to paying then that's always a plus! Try to not look at it as going backwards and just concentrate on buying bags you really like and you can never go wrong :smile1:

P.S. I never put my bags on the floor

Perhaps don't look at it as "moving up" to LV from MK (or vice versa) .. that has such a negative connotation. Just look at it as you are getting a bag that you LOVE regardless of the designer. I have many different designers in my arsenal and if push came to shove and I had to pick, I would choose Coach as my favourite, but that being said, every bag I have, I want regardless of the price / designer :smile1:.

I have to agree with everyone, buy/use what you like...I own lv, mk, kate spade coach , and dooney. I use them all.i switch my bags according to my mood. Enjoy what you like ! :)

I don't have any LV bags. I have lots of MK and RM and LP, I feel like they are much more stylish and affordable also functional with good quality leather. To me, buying a LV bag is just buying the name, that's all, but that's just my opinion.
I never ever put my bags on the floor even at home! :D They are all my babies and I really look after them.

This is just my opinion but, considering LV's prices and how many I see around, I don't even assume they're authentic anymore. If you absolutely love an LV bag, I say go for it! But I wouldn't spend a cent on a bag I didn't love carrying, no matter what label it is.

^^ This. I see LV fakes everywhere, so I don't give them a second look even if they are the real thing. I love all kinds and brands.

I too used to have all LV, Gucci, Fendi, Chanel, but now I like a lot of different bags, my newest addiction is MK, love my new lambskin Chelsea bag in the silver, it is so comfortable to carry and lightweight, and it's a little edgy with the chain link going around it. just love it.

^^ So true. I used to own a speedy (my 1st LV) and sold it after few months of owning it. I felt like I just got sucked into it because my friends were carrying LV. Silly me I know.

Anyway, now I buy whatever bag I like. From name brand to never-heard-of-that-brand-before as my friends would call some of my purses LOL.
