I tried to post some pictures to share the comparison between these two beauties. Please chip in and share your thoughts as well. 
Comparison of Miss Dior vs Chanel Reissue 226

First let's look at the size
As you can see here, these two bags have similar size but the Miss Dior is having a more rounded shape while the reissue has a more squarish shape. Thus in my personal opinion the Miss Dior is more feminine while the reissue is more suitable for casual wear.

These two bags have some similarities whereby they both have a metal chain that can be worn cross body or sling or doubled the chain to make it a shoulder bag.
The chain for Miss Dior is a little bit longer if you can see from the pictures below.

I really like the Miss Dior with the aged calfskin. Certainly gives the Chanel Reissue some serious competition.

More photos for comparison. Let's look at the chain on the bag. The Miss Dior has a hook outside where it doesn't press on the leather. But thr downside is you couldn't keep it inside the bag then. While the reissue chain is hook through the bag thus it gives some pressure on the bag. Especially when the bag is loaded it will loss the shape because of the pressure on the leather. And after some wear you can see the leather has some press mark on top. Personally I prefer the Miss Dior design where it doesn't impact the leather but as mentioned you could not keep the chain inside the bag then. I am fine with it since I hardly use it as a cluth.

This is the new Miss Dior bag (I think the size is medium) with a sliding chain. There is only one chain size for this bag since it is adjustable.
Do you know if Dior is discontinuing the old Miss Dior?

I'm not sure but it seems that way. There are still some old Miss Dior bags left, including the slightly newer ones with leather-interlaced chains. The new models seem to all be the new Miss Dior.
Oh the interwoven chain is consider newer version of old miss dior. Good to know as well, but I don't quite like it as it really has a feel of copying the chanel.
