You're not alone! I sent my pommier City G21 to LBM in January for handles/corner repair and odor removal ONLY but they REPAINTED my bag without asking me first. This bag achieved glory when it faded and the leather was smooth and supple but it's a flat veinless textureless boring green bag now. Barbara looked at my bag when it arrived and said the color looked pretty good so it never occurred to me that she would repaint it, let alone without asking me first.
Not only that. Look at the photos. The handles are a mess. The laces? They are of two different shades of green. The strap was not repainted and retains the original color. And one of the rivets got a coat of paint too! All for $319.
The odor is gone. I'm surprised!

I’m so sorry this has happened!
Was this the first time you ever used LMB’s services? Did she offer you any kind of compensation?
I mean, please forgive me, but this is awful!!!

If this is the first time you ever used her services (after all the raves and recommendations), I can’t imagine how you must be feeling right now

When she enhanced the color of my Dark Turquoise, it was a pleasant surprise. I imagine she did it because once she replaced the handles and repaired the corners (using the same leather she used for the handles), I’m guessing she HAD to redo the color so that it matched. Luckily it turned out for the better, but it DID change the texture of the leather and it no longer had that same spongey distressed appearance and feeling that so many of us love about Bbags. But when people are telling her NOT to touch/change the color and she does it anyhow, thats just — I dunno, so wrong and so bad!

Yes, first time using LMB. This is awful, I agree! I'm sorry to say that because I'm 100% sure Barbara is a very nice lady, but her work on my bag was shockingly sloppy. Needless to say, I will never use LMB again.
I'm not planning to contact her. But the bag just arrived (yesterday) so I can still change my mind.
I'm fuuuuurious.

Yes, first time using LMB. This is awful, I agree! I'm sorry to say that because I'm 100% sure Barbara is a very nice lady, but her work on my bag was shockingly sloppy. Needless to say, I will never use LMB again.

I am shocked that your bag came back like this! I think you should contact her and let her know so she can attempt to correct somehow. I am so nervous now - I sent her 3 bags this week for strictly HANDLE cleaning and sealing *one needs new laces* (which so many people recommend and rave about). I sent her a text right now stating that under no circumstance should she touch the body of any bags I sent in. Some of these bags are so hard to find that if they were ruined I would be so very very devastated.
Did she send you the after repair photos before you paid?

If I contacted Barbara, I would get nothing out of it. She can't remove the new paint and bring back that lovely distressed, faded color. The bag is dead. She may offer to repaint the strap to match the "new" color of the dead bag body, but then the repainted strap would stain my light colored shirts. She could redo the handles and the laces but it's not worth the trouble of sending it back and wait, wait, wait. That rough paint texture ruined the bag for me.
She never sent me after repair photos, and I didn't even think of asking.
I'm so lucky that this bag is no holy grail. Did you see protein's post about her SEAFOAM?? Uhhhh!

She may offer to repaint the strap to match the "new" color of the dead bag body, but then the repainted strap would stain my light colored shirts. I did see the seafoam, what a crying (literally) shame! I thought since I filled out the service form and said HANDLES only that they wont touch the body of the bag. I haven't heard back from her yet and I might just ask them to send the bags back without repair... My bags aren't holy grail (08 Bubblegum, 09 Grape, 06 Tomato) but I love them, I love the leather and I love any natural fading of the bags.
