Hi, can someone help me how to clean this stitching color transfer? I was wearing black suede jacket didn’t realize that it will have color transfer. Bag I was able to wipe of with wet towel but the white stitching it is not helping. Can you please guide me what to do. I heard the stitching use to be glossed so they don’t have color transfer. But not in my case. Please help and guide.

I think you should repost your concern to the purse forum community vs. just the Toronto Hermes thread to reach out to more people who may experience same.

It is probably much more obvious to you than to anyone else.

I think you will have to live with it.

Seriously, can you imagine how anyone could get at a millimetre width of thread and clean that without damaging the neighbouring leather
If it really troubles you, I can think the only solution would be to have it restitched and I doubt Hermes would sanction that. You wouldn't want to entrust it to a third party if only for the reason Hermes would never touch it again.

Do you think if I can wipe with baby wipes it will be little better? It is so stressful I thought the thread is transfer proof. Looks like it will come off if I carefully use mild water and cloth. Bcz I tried on strap and it got lighter. I don’t want to rub hard so thinking maybe baby wipes?

Maybe a damp q tip so you don’t rub the leather too?

No - my immediate reaction is you should leave it alone
HOWEVER
if you have found some way to improve it without using anything other than water
just continue with patience, a little bit at a time, not too much so that you don't get slap dash
I would avoid baby wipes - keep it as plain as possible

I understand it's a recent problem and you want to fix it
and that the longer you leave it might make it more difficult

The contrast is a feature of the bag and it's not very helpful to you to write it's not that bad,
but you know it's not as it should be.
But try to realise when you are using it and moving, it's not so obvious.
Also when you are using it, the light catches it in different ways, so it is not obvious.
If you set it down and 'display' it, it is noticeable; but that is not the way bags are seen by others.

As I wrote, nothing can take away what you know to be the case at the moment and your very costly and special bag has been spoilt. Getting used to it seems rather trite, but in a way that is what you will do - I mean what will happen - you will get a different perspective the more you continue to use it - and that is what you need to do - use it, don't put it away because it's been spoilt - that is only in your eyes - others will not see the flaw, they will covet the bag and admire it.

I am wondering if a VERY steady and careful hand with a Tide Pen would help here honestly; I can't see that being hugely damaging to the leather, especially if you are prudent only touching the stitching.. otherwise if you are open to it, I'd send it to spa if it vexes you too much.

'send it to spa' would always be my immediate advice to any problem like this.
I am annoyed with myself that I prejudged what seemed to be the impossibilty of the task and didn't make that my first suggestion.
STUPID STUPID STUPID Me
Do not mess about with it; take it to Hermes and get advice there. If you are without the bag for a few months, so be it.
It's the right thing to do.
