I just got some money for my birthday and want to spend it on another Rogue 25. I need help with the colour, as I can't really justify two more ha ha. This will be the first Coach I pay FP for. With exchange, taxes, and shipping it ends up being $800 CAD so I definitely can only go for one. This is likely to be a bag I hold on to for a long time, if not for rest of my life.
I currently have it in Chalk, which I got for a screaming ebay deal and fell in love with it as soon as I opened the box. I am looking at either Black or 1941 Red. Black feels like the safer and smarter choice (and a natural alternative to the Chalk - if Chalk won't work with an outfit, black likely would!) but I am very drawn to that red! While in the past I usually played safe with bags - blacks, browns, I do note that I am enjoying more colour in my bags these days.
Black is obviously very classic and in that size could work for day and less formal evening. Though I think I would be a goner for it if it came with brass HW, the black on black is not as exciting to me.
Red is obviously eye-catching, and a great pop, but I do consider it versatile and wearable with many colours. For the red, I think the black HW works and makes it more "neutral".
I know the 1941 Red has sold out on site more than once too, whereas Black seems more permanent, at least until they decide to cease making Rogues
I wear a lot of neutrals day to day. Grey, black, brown, cream, olives, and other "fall" type colours, but I also do add in bright blues, denim, etc. Green is actually my favourite colour so I would not want to look like a Christmas advertisement with a red bag, but most of my brighter greens are sportswear/active wear or winter puffies where I would not likely be carrying a Rogue 25. I wear more olives/khakis in regular clothing. The only red "clothing" I have is a pair of flats from Payless flats but I adore how cheery they are! I think I sometimes have a hard time wearing red because as a kid/teen I bought into idea redheads can't wear red (or pink, which is fine as I am fond of pink, ha).
For black bags, I currently have a Kate Spade Cedar Street Small Hayden (which is about same size and a boxier shape like Rogue 25, except saffiano and more structured), and my Rogue Satchel. I wonder if a black 25 would be duplicating size and the use/function of KS, and well, obviously colours of Satchel, so not adding variety. Though the black Satchel is so wonderful, I feel more badass when I carry it!
I currently have no red bags, I parted with my last one when I purged my RM Nikkis this year. Not due to colour, as loved colour, but just bag style. I do think a true red bag is a very good addition in any collection, but is THIS the red bag for mine?
Generally Rogue-wise I have the mediums in Olive, Prussian Blue, and Butterscotch, the 25 in Chalk, and the Satchels in Black and Oxblood.
Well, now that I wrote this out I have a good idea where I am leaning, but am still interested in input!
@MDT I think I can guess your vote! Feel free to post pictures to help me decide
