hi ladies~

oh dear, i've rarely been so conflicted . . . i've always wanted a red croc birkin (red's my favourite colour!!!), but i just don't know what shade would be best . . . i love both burgundy red (in fact, i just realized i'm wearing a burgundy top today! but then i also love bright true red, like the CL soles :p

what are your opinions on the different shades of red for crocodile (poro)? i'm currently looking at a bordeaux croc with GHW, but i'm a little hesitant about whether i should get that or a truer red??? help!!!

ps - also a little hesitant re: GHW as i usually prefer palladium . . . any opinions on that as well? my mom always says i'll "acquire a taste" for gold eventually? and i mean, she was right when she said that about things like caviar, so maybe it's true? :sweatdrop:

any guidance would be much appreciated!! :peace:

Hmm, so you are considering rouge H and braise? You may want to look through ILML's thread, she has a lot of great modelling pics with her matt rouge H birkin. And glossy and matt are quite different, so you may want to make a choice between that too.

I think colors on croc skins look different from the normal skin. If you want something bright, Braise will suit your requirement. Rouge H looks more like burgundy on croc.

Rouge H in matte or braise shiny. I think the rouge H matte looks better in a bigger bag, whilst the braise seems better suited for a smaller bag, if size is an issue.

Shiny - Braise
Matte - Rouge H

As for hardware I am strictly a PH girl however Braise is the only croc colour on which I'd even consider GH. A classic combination.

thanks so much ladies for all your help!!! looks like i will most likely be passing on the bordeaux . . . i think maybe it's a bit too dark for what i'm looking for

Oh?!!!! Why would you want to do that? It's also a gorgeous colour, and it's a new colour for 2008.

Have you seen a bag in bordeaux croc? Let me see if I can pull up a picture before you say no.

Look at whitebirkin's 35cm shiny bordeaux croc Birkin.

It's not too dark! Not at all!

Shiny - I vote for Braise and Rouge Vif

Matte - I vote for Rouge H.

agreed!! rouge vif in shiny is such a gorgy shade of ruby-blood red!

so maybe and in between option between the darker shades and the bright braise ? definately check that out if you are in between dark/bright

also regarding rouge h matte. make sure what shade you are getting the current rouge h matte is much more bright and a tad on the orangy side then it used to be so if you want the old rouge h matte maybe the best way is to go second hand if you can not get hermès to make the old shade for you
