I am trying to cut back on clothes shopping and shop only one item per month. I have enough suits and dresses and definitely do not need more but I allow myself to shop something I really like.
Now this new color trend caught my eye, but I am not sure whether it will be sustainable. Here are the items on my list, what do you think? I think it would look best when wearing it in a monochome look:
The first Outfit ist the Demetria Pant from Theory, second is Tiger of Sweden, third is Hugo Boss:

Burgundy /wine is just a jewel tone, like any other, and is definitely more than just a trend. It's easily sustainable.
I wear this shade all the time, often in place of black. For example, instead of black trousers at the office, I would use ruby/wine (I had different shades). I do the same with all jewel tones and find it makes my capsule wardrobe stretch further because they act as neutrals.

Monochrome is very sleek and I'm a big fan, but for this shade, you can also easily pair with other colours. I'm fond of combining with olive green or navy blue. They match so well, so long as the tones of the colours are similar.

I'd definitely encourage you to add a piece and see how it slots into your existing wardrobe. I'll bet you'll be pleasantly surprised! :)

If you can find coords in plum and wine (or warm-tone sister colours) it's definitely more than a one-season trend, they're very elegant tones.

If you don't want to do monochrome, you will be able to compliment your existing backs, navies, cool/neutral greys and cool-tone dark browns and greens. You can also coordinate with dusky pinks (first pic) cool beige, oyster, silver and white if you want to keep tonal but have higher contrasts

If you are not sure this color is for you, I would either start small with a scarf or similar
Or, wait to see if there is something you adore that happens to be in this color.
