I got my wife a Madison Carlyle in black last September, and it's already showing color loss/wear on the bottom corners. She carries the big daily and by no means is she hard on it. I'm pretty disappointed with this especially considering previous Coach bags that I have gotten her have gone many years without showing any wear. Is there any chance of recourse for this?

I sympathize with your situation. The unfortunate fact is that some Coach leathers wear better than others. I have many bags that get no corner wear at all with long standing wear, though others get it pretty quickly even with light wear.

You could always call your nearest Coach store and speak with a manager, though it's likely they'll just tell you its normal wear, even if your wife isn't hard on her bags.

Even if she's not hard on her bags, but the fact that she carries it daily may mean you're out of luck. Some Vevers design are quality bags, others not...it's hard and frustrating to know which ones will actually stand up to normal use.

I agree, couldn't hurt to make an inquiry.

If you don't get any satisfaction from Coach you can always get black leather dye and touch up the corners. I did it on 2 of my daughters black bags (Coach) and you can't tell where the color loss is. Kiwi makes it and I find it back in the shoe dept. at WalMart. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Ah, is that so? Would that be a transition bag then? It came out Fall 2014, so I assumed it's a Vevers design.

It was among the last of the non-Vevers line. The Rhyders were the first V bags.

To the OP, I have 3 Carlyles and have carried all of them for weeks at a time, and mine still look brand new with no wear or color loss...it's possible your wife got a bag from a bad dye lot. I'd definitely take it in and at least see what they say.

I certainly will check into this ...
