I have a terrible tendency, when I find a bag that I like, to feel compelled to acquire the bag in multiple colors. Later, I often realize that the bag design doesn't strike me the same way in some of the other colors and then I end up selling them at a fraction of the original price even though they are in practically new condition. I caught myself doing this today after I bought a Coach Rogue in black. I think I really like this bag (in black) but had to talk myself out of getting it in the nude/pink color too. Not sure I would like that one as much, but more importantly, I have at least two other bags in my closet that meet the same need! What is happening here? Anyone else feel compelled to collect, maybe without thinking it through? I think there's some FOMO going on in my head...

For handbag lovers, I think this is the norm rather than the exception, LOL. Also, if you find a style that works for you, it's hard to resist another one. I know on the Balenciaga forum and the Louis Vuitton forum, people collect the Balenciaga City in a new color all the time because colors are seasonal. With LV, many members have the Speedy in multiple prints. I used to do this with Balenciaga, too, but at some point I realized that I was more of a user than a collector and could not possibly wear all the bags I wanted :) There is probably a lot of FOMO going on, but at least you may have caught it early enough to prevent a massive collection that you will not have time to wear.

Agree, cbarrus. I have five Brahmin Priscilla satchels because I love them so much. And I’ve already determined my next LV will be another speedy. I love satchels and I might just as well quit throwing my money on hobos and totes I may only use once.
