Hi all!

I'm torn between the coco crush ring in white gold and the Cartier love ring in white gold. Which do you have and what are the pro's/cons? or if you have both, which do you prefer?

I would choose the Coco Crush! It’s elegant and reminiscent of the puffy diamond quilts. I think the design, although simple, is really cute.

To be honest, I’ve never been a huge fan of the LOVE collection (no offense to anyone with my following remarks!). Cartier likes to say that it’s a “symbol of free-spirited love” (directly taken from their website) but how in the world is it “free-spirited” with a screw motif? Same goes for the bracelets - I find it really uncomfortable knowing that you’d have to screw it on and off. They also say on their website that it’s a way to “lock in your love, forever” - it sounds a little scary.

The design of the screw motif is also just, in general, a huge pass for me. I get that it’s based on the idea of “utilitarian art” - like the Juste un clou collection which I really like - but the screw motif just doesn’t look very pretty.

I have the love bracelet but no love ring and nothing from the coco crush line. (My husband’s wedding band is the WG love though.)

Just some of my thoughts:

Cartier is a luxury fine jewelry house, the love will always be there if you want it later. It is a classic piece of the house.

Chanel makes beautiful fine jewelry, but collections come and go. I have a an eternity diamond band from the premiere collection that was discontinued around 2017. I still love it and wear it everyday.
However, the quilted pattern on fine jewelry has been done before in the 90’s and I hope it’s here to stay. I find that it honors the history of the brand but only time will tell.

Both are relatively simple designs that are quite versatile and most likely will stand the test of time. It just really depends on which design you gravitate towards more.

Something to note. Cartier’s white gold without diamonds are not rhodium plated. Therefore, their WG may not look as bright or cool-toned as the coco crush which I believe is rhodium plated.

Rhodium plating does wear down over time and needs replating if one wishes to maintain that luminous white look.

I personally prefer no rhodium plating but that depends on the individual!

Hope that helps! Good luck and happy shopping!

My wedding band is the white gold classic Love Ring with three diamonds. I am absolutely thrilled with it (and would always choose it over the Coco Crush), but it is prone to scratching and needs regular replating with rhodium.

I recently added the rose gold love in the thinner size to my engagement ring and love it! I find it very comfortable to wear and matches my husbands RG love wedding band which feels sweet.
I personally would always choose fine jewelry from a fine jewelry brand than from a fashion house.
I tried to take a photo but the lighting is terrible, sorry! 79FF2E7A-6139-4B51-81A7-71E5C879FB6A.jpeg
