Help please! My CHANEL COCO CABAS BLACK VINYL BAG has cracked a bit and the vinyl is no longer shiny. I tried to contact Chanel for repairs but they emailed me and said warranties are only covered for 5 years which I am a little shocked by. Anyway is this a lost cause or does anyone know if there are any hidden secrets to fixing cracked vinyl and or restoring the luster? I tried wiping it down with a damp cloth but it still looks the same. I'm kind of disappointed in Chanel's customer service since they could not even offer me any alternative and could not repair my ballet flats either.

Mine did the same exact thing. It actually looks worse than yours. The vinyl is peeling all over. It looks really bad and it’s not like I wore it that much. I don’t think it can be repaired since it is vinyl but maybe I am wrong.

im literally so upset. i called Chanel they won't fix anything over 5 years old it's a new policy as of 3 years ago. I've read vaseline can fix the smudges but im scared to try. i just feel like there must be a way to fix it that someone in the universe knows lol (wishful hoping) i am the kind of person that will not settle on a no i have to keep searching for a resolution. i just really don't want to believe that a $3500 bag can't be fixed!

they also can't fix my Chanel cambon flats because i ruined the heels by stepping on them when walking because they were giving me blisters so was going to try to resell but can't resell with heels that won't stay up :-/

Vinyl and patent just can't be repaired from what I've heard, doesn't matter what it cost, it's just the nature of the material unfortunately. I suppose you could paint that peeled area with black nail polish or some other type of black lacquer, it's not going to look new but it might be less noticeable.

ugh that make me sad but i don't see how this can be true because lets say i bought this 4 years ago Chanel would have to have it covered so there must be a way to fix it. anyway just emailed leather surgeons and leather spa so i guess i will see what they say and my last resort is going into Chanel myself. there must be at least a way to make it shinier and bring it back to life.

Yes, see what the repair specialists say, you never know! I think Chanel will fix a defect on a bag up to 5 years old if it's fixable, but I'm not sure that every issue is fixable? Maybe in some cases they have to offer store credit (for a true defect) or they say it is wear and tear?

I sold my in the business vinyl
Tote when it started looking dull I shined it with a
Cloth the best I could and took my loss especially living in a Florida w the humidity. Better get some $$ back than loose it all

Oh you sold it? I was considering possibly doing that and getting a new one from a consignment. How much did you sell yours for? I am not really sure how much is fair for a Chanel bag that is cracking
