Cobalt blue vs. royal blue

So hi everyone, the redoubtable tpf member and bonanza seller has an album of what appears to be comparison of cobalt blue v royal blue nano pictures. I'm not sure of which nano is which colour ... perhaps other can shed some light ... but here is a link to the album of this very informative seller. IMHO the Cobalt has a slight purple undertone, similar to Balenciaga's Outremer but Royal Blue is more "blue".

HeathJo, many thanks for the comparison shots! I recently got my royal blue mini and have wondered how it compared with the cobalt...

YW! Honestly there really is such a teeny tiny difference I would say they are the same. I will try to take outdoor pics and post those next. Congrats on your Mini!!

THANKS for the photos Heather! Geez is it just me, or is there really no difference in these colors? I can hardly see the difference!

I do see a very, very, very slight difference in the tones of the blue. It seems the stock photos really threw me off but thanks HeathJo for putting up these comparison photos.

With that being said, what the Cobalt had over the Royal Blue is its contrast lining. That to me was a very smart and nice touch of Olive!

HeathJo, thank you so much for this informative post! Super helpful. A quick question about minis, generally: why do some have 'feet' and the cobalt and royal blue you showed in your photos do not? Is it only the tricolor totes that have the metal feet now? I am still learning all the details on the nuances of the luggage totes. Thanks!

These are nanos, the smallest size with the long detachable strap for cross body wear. They are now the only ones that have no feet. The grainy luggages used to come with no feet when they were made of pebbled lambskin, and the 2010 Envelope Minis do not either. This changed when the grainy bags began being made of drummed calfskin for the Resort 2012 collection
