What do you all do when you need a new battery? Do you pay the $$ to let coach sent it to Movado for a new battery which is a little over $50 I think or do you just get a battery at a regular jeweler?

I go to the jewelry repair at my local Sears which has a good reputation. It is independently owned and I've been going there for years. I get a five year replacement plan for $23, I think, which is cheaper than 2 one-year battery replacements by them, and they use a longer lasting battery with the 5 year plan than the one-year plan.

I don't know if I would trust my movados to a mall kiosk. I'd rather have the batteries replaced by someone who specializes in it.

I've used a kiosk in the mall for batteries in my movados and they're all working fine.

I don't like sending my watches off for weeks at a time just for a new battery, so I found a nice jewelry shop that sells high end watches, (so I'm confident they know what they are doing) and have the batteries replaced the same day.

I believe Movado charges $35 per battery ... at least in Minnesota... not sure about an extended warranty... I guess for that price they better...
Otherwise, I have gone to a store (Fixology) at the Mall of America... It cost me $50.. my Phillip Stein watch requires two batteries... I didn't realize that they had a five year warranty... kind of steep... but nice to know that I can go back if the battery dies and get it replaced..

Like my fellow TPFers... I would go to a jeweler...
Good Luck!!!

Lynne :)

I've also used Fixology, but they are a little pricey. Macy's is where I usually get it done. If I go on a weekday, they will do it while I wait. If not, the longest it's taken was an hour. I shopped, then came back. It was around $20 last time.
