I purchased a retail store item at the outlets yesterday and noticed when I got home the zipper fabric is worn (some threads are broken) and will likely unravel in the next year of wear. There are also several small scratches to the hardwear, suede, and leather and a small stain in the interrior fabric because it was a floor model and the style discountinued. Can I bring this to the retail store for repairs (I'm maining concerned about the fabric on the zipper pull - the scraches I can deal with myself). I'm not familiar with Coach retail customer service - what do they cover in terms of issues like this?

Don't ever do repairs with Coach. Their team takes forever and you might risk running out of time to return the item. Avoid them at all costs. You won't get refunded if the repairs team tells you that your bag is unrepairable, instead they will send you a store credit letter. It's not worth it. I learned this the hard way.

Thanks for your help. The store offered me a 10% discount for the bag since there were scuffs on the leather and hardware. They said it was final sale because of the discount but I didn't see the zipper issue until I got home. Do you think I can still return it? It was at an outlet but it was an item from the retail store - should I go back to an outlet or a main retail store?

Does the receipt say final sale under the item?
It would have to be returned to an outlet if it was purchased from an outlet.

I purchased a new bag (still factory packaged) from a seller on Tradesy and when I received it, two stitches were questionable. It was on the top stitching on a Rogue bag with contrast stitching and it was very obvious. The seller did not disclose. I brought it to my SA and they sent it off with a repair total of $35 with free shipping both ways. I received the bag with a good repair within 2 weeks. I was surprised to say the least. That was my only experience with repair with Coach so far and it was fine. That being said, it was a simple repair but it would have unraveled if not fixed.

Sounds like you need to inspect your bag more closely next time. You can't buy super-discounted bags at outlet prices and expect boutique after-sale service. Just my two cents.
